Ya know, thats a really good question. Lots of notebooks (not to mention cell phones) already have this built in. Perhaps a "light" version? (Please, please, PLEASE do not call it "lite" !)

You need 2 adapters. The notebook can connect to the Parani SD-100 but the PROcede Reader Software is not able to open the virtual serial Bluetooth COM port.

There are other reasons as well why I would not prefer such a solution. I configure the 2 Paranis to act as a physical cable, they don't accept any requests or connections from other devices. This approach is more costly than others, but it guarantees that no other device will be able to detect or corrupt data communication. The devices will autoconnect at power-on, so if you did not use the connection e.g. for a couple of months all you have to do is to power on the Parani on the laptop side and you will be connected, even when you would have changed the laptop in the meantime.

I had no interferences at all. As soon as I will get my V2 upgrade I will test for another 2 weeks. The kit will be sold only when there will be absolutely no problems or side-effects by using it.

Technical question, will it work on a Mac running parralles?
As described above, the kit will behave exactly like a physical serial cable ( except its wireless ). If your Mac works using a serial cable with the PROcede it will work with the kit as well. The kit is independent from Operating Systems or Software, but it has to be set up to work with the PROcede properly.

The installation in the 335i's ECU box will be very easy, the kit comes with all installation and operation material you need and the devices will be pre-configured, so that you won't have to deal with any settings.

Cheers
Eugen

I admire your work, but $350 is really too much considering that the whole proceed costs $1400

Yeah, I know that the parts are expensive but still it is a lot of money for just a connection ...my .0002 cent

I respect your opinion. It's a special product for special people. I enjoy this little project. There is no reason for me to do it for free, the parts I use are high quality and you can be sure you get the value for the money. Of course, it's not cheap but I personally always avoided to be focused on prices too much. It's up to everybody to draw the borderlines. I am happy when 10 customers join and the kit can be made. The money I get for this is fair and the product is not overpriced at all. It's a hobby, not more. I don't have to live from what I'm doing here, I earn my money different.

Cheers
Eugen

Hi

It will work like this:

After the 10th customer commits, I will become a supporting vendor and a group buy will start lasting 30 days. After 30 days all customers will be charged and will receive their kits within max. 4 weeks ( first come, first serve ).

Cheers
Eugen

p.s. broadcom wireless is a WLAN ( wireless local area network ) adapter.

It is defined in the User Manual of your laptop. However, you would need the whole kit anyway. The PROcede Reader Software could not connect to a virtual bluetooth serial interface. It works with the kit without any issues.

If you buy his package you won't need bluetooth on your laptop. His bluetooth system will be transparent to your computer since the bluetooth adapters will act as an invisible cable.
