Bud:
In an earlier post above you mentioned the 'battery (cable?) recall'. It is my understanding the diesels are not a part of this recall campaign. Are they OR are they not? Thanks! |

Well, mine just triggered 474C and 4D32, and I was already scheduled to see the dealer for BMWCCA HPDE tech inspection. I'd hate to have to miss the HPDE because of the repairs.....

What you see is the forward part of the vehicle, see how restrictive our exhaust is!!!

What would be the detriment to the system, were one to drive on faulty temperature sensors? I've had this "4D16" show up now and then....no discernible difference in the car's performance. It has only appeared after I got CBU cleaning. I am also now in a warmer climate, down 5000ft of elevation, and started using b5 diesel. I would like to do the alphabet deletes eventually as a solution, but I don't think I'll be able to swing it this year. I really don't want to replace any of the emissions stuff.

One would assume the system will just ignore the temp sensor if it has thrown a fault code, so the only detriment would be if you were to drive in cold temps. In warm temps the temperature shouldnt matter, it should only by used for the tank heater one would think.

I took my d in for a SES light and it came back with the 4D16 (P20EE) code. That was 7 weeks ago and I am still waiting for it to get fixed. There may be other codes but it is not done yet. This problem came after the extremely cold Feb/March and driving it in -30F weather. According to the SA, the urea system dumped the whole tank into the SCR and plugged it up. Waiting on the SCR replacement and there are zero worldwide. |
