I very much enjoy my advan tank. I don't like having tanks exposed in the trunk. The only thing I wish it had was a level sensor - i'd have to modify it to add that in

No one is forcing anyone to be part of the GB, lets make that clear.
If you can get it done for sub $300, go for it and post the results. You can probably make DP's for $100, but i don't see anyone doing it? |

This tank has been out for a long time now. People always say it can be done so much cheaper, yet no one has ever actually done it. People should stop complaining and go do it if they're so offended by the price. Also make sure your fabricator makes it baffled

i put a towel over my meth tank, problem solved it's now stealth.
BTW, considering i have a ton of stuff in my trunk, i would find it beyond annoying removing all the crap in my trunk just to fill the tank. It's definitely a sweet piece, for the BMW owner that has everything (including SuperSprint downpipes).

I worked as a machinist for 8 years and covered all facets of machining and I know for a fact you cannot machine a tank such as this up for $300 less... It certainly doesn't give your amateur comment much creditability. |

Guys, things are a little different here in Australia. As an example our workshop labour rate is around $150 AUD, however within Aus that is considered quite reasonable for a high-end performance workshop that specialises in Euros. The local "stealership" here in Sydney where I bought my 135i from about 3.5 years ago, charge $250 per hour and that labour rate is almost 2 years old, god knows what they charge now. Our fabricator Chris is also our Senior mechanic, if he spends 2 hours manufacturing a tank, that is $300 of labour time that cannot be charged out to a customer for a repair/upgrade/service to their vehicle. The tank ain't cheap, but as Peter said, "the price is the price", if it's outside of your budget or you personally do not see the value in it, that's cool simply do not buy it. Lastly the tank is indeed baffled, as jpsimon eluded to. Cheers, JD. Last edited by Justin@ADVAN Performance; 05-10-2013 at 06:05 PM.. Reason: Revision |
