Sorry guys, you won't get rich in this market with an over priced product that no one can justify.
I'm all over this product and will buy it unless you are able to get these done cheaper. I doubt you can, but I hope you'll do. I've been looking for this kind of a tank and the quotes I've got are double the Advan price.

I very much enjoy my advan tank. I don't like having tanks exposed in the trunk. The only thing I wish it had was a level sensor - i'd have to modify it to add that in

... Unless you want a tank that is completely hidden out of the way, and don't have an awesome fabricator at your disposal. To each their own, I love the tank and don't consider myself a sucker.

Sucker? Last time I checked, I don't see your name on the list.

If you can't afford it, and need to save your pennies for college, I suggest you 'Be Gone'.

No one is forcing anyone to be part of the GB, lets make that clear.

If you can get it done for sub $300, go for it and post the results.

You can probably make DP's for $100, but i don't see anyone doing it?

i put a towel over my meth tank, problem solved it's now stealth.

BTW, considering i have a ton of stuff in my trunk, i would find it beyond annoying removing all the crap in my trunk just to fill the tank. It's definitely a sweet piece, for the BMW owner that has everything (including SuperSprint downpipes).

dude do you know a machinist generally specialises in the use of a lathe/mill/drills/borers etc....

I worked as a machinist for 8 years and covered all facets of machining and I know for a fact you cannot machine a tank such as this up for $300 less...

It certainly doesn't give your amateur comment much creditability.

Great hidden tank to free up your boot space and keep it a sleeper!

Our International shipping rates, are now much better.

You would be looking at around $100 AUD for shipping to Cali.

Cheers,

JD.

So advan are potentially making $70 on a tank...

Well good on em i say for providing the community with an Australian made and designed product with good ol dinky di aussie ingenuity!

The Doctor is in the house and he is pretty much on the money with regards manufacturing and component costs.

Guys,

things are a little different here in Australia.

As an example our workshop labour rate is around $150 AUD, however within Aus that is considered quite reasonable for a high-end performance workshop that specialises in Euros.

The local "stealership" here in Sydney where I bought my 135i from about 3.5 years ago, charge $250 per hour and that labour rate is almost 2 years old, god knows what they charge now.

Our fabricator Chris is also our Senior mechanic, if he spends 2 hours manufacturing a tank, that is $300 of labour time that cannot be charged out to a customer for a repair/upgrade/service to their vehicle.

The tank ain't cheap, but as Peter said, "the price is the price", if it's outside of your budget or you personally do not see the value in it, that's cool simply do not buy it.

Lastly the tank is indeed baffled, as jpsimon eluded to.

Cheers,

JD.

Cheers,
