to use this oil cooler setup you have to have a car with an oil cooler originally correct?

Mine doesnt and I've been looking for a dual setup like this.

Yea it went from really hot. 250-260 to 190-200. I monitor it a lot on the before and after. Takes the exact same time to warm up.

Chicago, my car didn't come with a oil cooler. I had to purchase a housing.

The real test will be on the track. Looks like good hardware though. Good job! Only think I don't like is the distribution and lines in front of the radiator.

I can't remember. They were originally for the 3KGT. I want to say B&M. They are about 4 years old

That one was the one I was thinking of, significant blockage of radiator flow there.

Looks like you removed all of the pieces that direct the air to the intake because of your oil cooler. Isn't that pretty ineffective? DCIs already suck in a lot of hot air. Without the little bit of cold air being directed to the intake, have you noticed any negative effects?

Dang, they look really good for that price. I have a track day coming up in two weeks and was contemplating making this setup quick. I counted 16 rows on them haha. Did you find them on Ebay?

These look close: http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-16...fca00f&vxp=mtr

Removing the scoops and blocking it off allowing all air to flow threw the radiator probably makes up for or is better than the original set up

Single turbo'd ;-) how ever i did have a afe stg 2 prior to installing the single, i never noticed an increase in temp or anything. Couldn't tell a difference between the afe scoops in the winter and removing the whole cold induction system in the summer.

Looks like a fun project! I had a couple 3000GT VR4s and a TT stealth too. Once the 335i came out I knew I'd pick one up someday.

If you can leave black marks on a straight from the time you exit a corner till the time you brake for the next turn....... Then, you have enough horsepower.

Yeah. Maybe I'll make a rig to pressure test them under water at 100psi. That should help settle the nerves.

They look identical to those. I used 2 plugs. One i drilled and taped and put a threaded valve stem in. It held 125psi over night. I was good with that. I had pictures of everything my computer won't boot past the windows screen so everything i do has to be done by phone

So did you eliminate the brake ducts? That'll suck for you if you ever take it to track.
