Lol seriously though...you weren't curious what that carbon fiber intake was when buying it?? That's the first thing that would have caught my eye.

Here come the party poopers^^^... considering it IS a 1200$ DINAN intake, i would assume the previous owner has taken good care of the car. I wouldn't be too worried. Just buy a jb4 and procede, crank it up, and let it rip, u'll love it.

Party poopers? You mean people with logic. For all he knows, he could have a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

Just trying to understand the rationale behind his decision.

Yeah, I think I would be more concerned knowing there may have been a tune. Yes some safe good tunes out there, but doesn't mean the car wasn't abused. Running a simple incorrect MAP from the previous owner would worry me.

What's done is done, can't go back. So let the guys stay positive about things, and if something goes wrong(which i doubt), he'll deal with it then.

I find it funny the previous owner took the time to remove the tune, but can't find time to remove an intake worth 3x as much. But nice find!

Nice score with the intake. Do you know if your suspension is 100% stock?

Okay, I bought the car because the price was just right. I first noticed the tinted windows, smoked tail lights, then the carbon intake. Also the low mileage combined with the fact the car was very clean made it hard to walk away from. I paid for my own carfax report which told me the car was serviced on a regular basis at the Seattle BMW dealership and has never been in a wreck.

What I know so far: Custom tail lights, windows tinted, upgraded intake, intercooler, down pipes (I looked), had a JB4 or equivalent piggy back and maybe a Meth reservoir mounted left side of the trunk because holes have been drilled and thread inserts installed. But the thing mounted in the trunk could of been a Sub, I just don't know for sure. The suspension seems to be stock.

The car is very fast. First gear is almost useless because the car can't get traction and drives the DTC nuts trying to control it. Second gear launch works better. This 335 makes my 328 so boring to drive. My goal is to get myself a 2011 M3, but now I might get a 335 myself because there might be more tuning potential in a 335 than a v8 M3, but a M3 is so bad ass that I can't stop thinking about owning one.

BTW I bought this car for my girlfriend. I drive it now and then. She liked my 328 so much that she expressed a huge interest in having her own BMW, so we got her one.

Probably didn’t have the stock air box to install, so just walked away.

Yea, right?

Dinan intake is where the money is.

He could pick up a stock intake for $80-120 in the classified sections of E90 within a day or so.

I wouldn't have bought a car so modded without knowing the previous owner and the integrity of the installs and maintenance of the vehicle but that's just me.

Jeff I was concerned about that also. I thought maybe the intake was some cheap knock off, someone maybe raced the car around for years without having the regular maintenance performed. Then when I heard the engine running and after a extensive test drive plus good report I was sold on it.

I'm sure it's fine. I just have my own personal rule about buying modded vehicles. Good luck with it!

The craziness of it all makes me think repo and/or auction.
