I went from progressive to linear springs this year as well. I made the change to eliminate the car's tendency to 'roll then set' on turn-in. W/ the progressive springs, I would turn the wheel, the car would roll a bit then set into the turn. The initial roll is more pronounced w/ progressive because the first part of the spring travel is soft - the load transfer causes the spring to compress more than it would if each inch of travel took an equal amount of force.

It takes an equal amount of force to compress a linear spring at each inch of its travel (e.g. 500 lb/inch). The car rolls less and [can] more accurately follow the road surface. You will feel the car body move more relative to the road surface since the spring isn't compressing as much. For this reason I went with linear springs since it's a more direct driving experience - the road surface is better communicated and the car handles w/ less body movement.

However, progressive is standard in most car suspensions and in most aftermarket suspensions because of that progressive characteristic; initial movements aren't felt as much, making it more comfortable for street driving. It is also standard because most dampers aren't that good. It takes the right damper (read: good, effective compression stroke) to make linear the 'better' choice. Ride quality AND good handling are not possible without good compression. I would say the damper and spring need to be paired correctly; use linear springs with kits designed for linear springs.

cvc22349a, I noticed on the Turner site that it says that wheel spacers may be needed if using your original tires with this SC set up; did you need wheel spacers and if not, how close was the clearance? Did your camber plates give you additional room in the front? I'm considering getting this setup also but am considering the Ohlins Road and Track as well. Did you consider them also? They are like 1000 more though, I wonder if they would really be that much better. Also was wondering if you could keep close to the stock sport package ride height with these?

Someone else asked about sport susp ride height; yes you can set it there; initially you'd set it higher because it will settle down then you can adjust.

I didn't need spacers but the inside of the front tires are close to the struts/perch. I have 235's up front on 8.5" Apex wheels; I might actually try 10mm spacers as it'd give me a wider track up front.

I've considered Ohlins but I don't like their soft rear springs; they will induce understeer. So, I'd have to buy 600-650 lb rear springs, have the rear shocks valved for the 200-250 lb higher spring rate just to have what might be a marginally better susp for a street driven car. If money were no object, then yeah I would have bought those from HPA with their swift springs and shipped the rear shocks to Ohlins for revalving. Out of the box I'll take the SC.

Happy to do it. I'm really surprised that more people don't run this suspension. If you don't want to run adjustable camber plates I'd suggest Dinan's camber plates and try to get -1.5 d camber up front

+1 I have read that some have experienced sagging springs with KW; interested to know if that was with V2 and V3 only or has it happened to anybody with the SC coils also? Or is this simply not true and just an urban myth or something?

Hmmmm....I've heard the rumor as well. BUT my 2008 335i sport suspension also seems to be slightly lower than normal. The car is 5 years old and has 40K miles. I measured it for a guy who was doing a setup for his coilovers, and my car was a little low. An eyeball check from outside correlates with that. I might be almost 1/2 inch lower than what others say (or specs, etc). It's completely stock and rarely have a passenger load.

So would I. There's guys on this forum that have installed this suspension back in 2007-8. Wish they'd chime in on this.
Again, KW offers a lifetime warranty on their suspensions.

I would say if you have no intentions of tracking your car, stay away from H&R springs.
