Cheers,

It all happened pretty quick really, I'd be toying with the idea of selling, and was thinking July / August.

Shifting a modded car 'as-is' for a decent price can be tricky, so I couldn't let the offer pass by. He's obviously a car nut.

Despite the mods mine had all the hall marks of being a 'keeper' for the new owner - 1 owner from new, meticulously serviced and mantained, rare manual, great spec etc etc.

He's had all the factory parts, winter wheels etc the lot!

As a family we've driving to / around Cornwall on holiday in August, but now we'll have to squeeze in the missus 06 Civic as mine won't be here till Sept / Oct.

Mike, I hope you're well. Whoever has bought your 3er has bought one of the most well cared for and well maintained 335i's out there - it's a stunning car (though looks standard!). Hopefully the new owner steps out of the shadows soon. BUT, I suppose if you're going to replace it, you can't go far wrong with an E63 AMG to help dry up the tears. Somebody did tip me off with your new purchase recently - I forget who - so was expecting the post. Don't forget to post up when the new beast arrives.

Although CH says it's handling is 'remarkable' for such a luxurious car and it has a brilliant gearbox. It's not as sharp at 10/10ths as the M5 but it's the best super saloon in which to 'drive slowly' by a mile, which lets face it is what we do 99.5% of the time.

The RS6 doesn't even get a look in.

The estates are £2Kmore list price, but cheaper to lease than the saloons - residuals obviously are better on the wagons - desirability??

Both are great looking luxury cars. Definitely a good choice.

congrats Mike!

My sources did say that you were on the merc forums...so an amg is not a surprise! ;-)

Looking forward to your review!!!

The new car has about what, 130bhp? more than your 335i?...would be an interesting comparison...

I'm sure the new owner is going to love it, I'm also pretty convinced he's excited as hell

I'll certainly not be as prolific a poster as Mike but I hope to get involved in the forum. I've been looking for around 9 months for a good, LCI E91 manual and Mike and I somehow got thrown together offline and did one of those deals that's good for everyone. The B3 suspension & quaife diff were items I would have added to the car anyway but the fact they were already on was perfect and Mike seems like a genuine, nice guy. The beauty of these forums is I've been able to go back through old posts and form an opinion of the car and the guy before wasting either of our time by viewing a car that wouldn't fit the bill. So by the time I went over it was pretty much a formality. From Mikes perspective, he's been able to easily sell the car to an enthusiast and not be subjected to a queue of dreamers and test pilots.

Cheers all.

Yep, we're both midlanders, and funnily enough we both live in old farmhouses and both like old barns and chopping wood! (Don't ask).

Basic car 2 year contract hire £455 + VAT/m @ 8+23 10kpa.

I've added a few small options so it's £471+VAT for mine.

For a 75 grand car?

Oh my, that's an obscene deal, there really are some stupid ones out there; especially on AMG's.

I was soooooooooooo tempted by an E93 M3 deal a couple of weeks ago at something like 6x24 at £350+vat p/m. Paul, M3 FST, has ordered one a touch more expensive as he's put a few bells & whistles on it but still a freakin' bargain.

I have the Oyster leather in the X6 and it does the same, I use the Zanio leather cleaner and conditioner. Clean it and then apply a few coats of the conditioner. Comes up like new now.

Even worse in the new one as it has half leather and suede I didn't go for the red seat belts either, just didn't look right. I would have gone for a C63AMG coupe but I needed to keep the CO2 under 145 to keep my fuel card so a C250CDI Sport Plus coupe instead

Congrats mate, it's a shame that the vultures can't circle your old car but actually for you, I am sure that's a very welcome thing!

The new car will be great too I am sure, hope you enjoy it.

I'm not a fan of lease deals. In fact most of them are just silly. But this....

Wow.

Just wow.
