thank you for you reply Steve, it cetainly helps. From reading your posts it appears that you are/work for BMW specialist independant?

The reason why my head keeps swaying me towards ZF kt is because from my reading the auto boxes you have to get the right oil otherwise may cause problems down the line. I cannot seem to see what difference there will be between a sump from ZF and Meyle.

Mine is on 116k miles and is long over due a service on the gearbox imo and this thread has prompted me to look into getting it done. I have noticed recently from cold and moving from standstill to be slightly jerky going up the box from 1st to 2nd which may possibly down to tired oil

looking at the website above it appears with the zf kit you only get the sump and oil and for meyle you get sump/oil and mecatornics sleave (which I presume is worthwhile to get changed while the sump is off?)

I think to put it into persepctive its a bit like getting a part from either genuine BMW or OEM from Euro car parts and me for £163 oem does sound a very good price
