Peak boost is about 21psi midrange. I'm on crappy RE760 all weather tires, only 245's in the rear. If it's just myself in the car and it's about 60* or less outside, I can barely hook third gear on the highway, but 4th gear feels like the freight train from hell I've always wanted.

There is definitely a benefit to going with an upgraded FMIC. But it's mainly from a reduction in pressure loss so the turbos can work a little bit easier. Shiv |

So the torque falling off a cliff at higher revs is due to the small turbos, correct? Are they being pushed very hard here? I'd love to run E85 regularly (once my clutch gets replaced) but if it's a better idea to wait until I upgrade the turbos (likely next year), I don't mind waiting for the sake of not having something let loose.
On that note I should also probably change the charge pipe...haven't found a cheap one yet though. |

Anxiously waiting for tomorrow, so I can use my mods to their potential for results like this. Sucks living in the heart of it all (ethanol land/South Dakota), and not having the fueling to support it. Hopefully not for much longer.

Just remember that methanol adds fuel to the system and E85 requires more fuel. So it can be a strain on the fueling system. None the less, there are solutions out there for this.

Ye i know that to run straight e85 you need to upgrade fuel system, but in terms of power, i bet meth wouldn't add a lot to the current setup???

There's only so much heat energy in the combustion chamber to be absorbed by the ethanol vaporization phase change. Its also exponentially less as temperatures decrease (smaller temperature differential, reduced heat transfer rates, etc). Water also has a much greater latent heat of vaporization, which is why it's more difficult to evaporate, than say methanol. It takes more energy to do it. Anyways....Obviously there is a point of diminishing returns. I would say E85 is close, but E95 or E100 might be a bit closer. Adding a little meth might help. That's what testing is for.

This was burned into my childhood memory. I used to read it every time we drove by the corn field that had it.
