Just take the mature approach and acknowledge if it's your car, and simply correct them, "by the way, its actually a BMW".

I had a cop call my car a Mercedes and while i was asking him not to give me a ticket 'cause I was trying to buy a house (22 at the time), he said I can't even afford a house... then he wrote me a ticket. Dick.
