Question Fog lights?

Hi everybody

I am new to this forum - I am currently driving a '10 E92 LCI X-Drive (snowy Switzerland ;-)) and would like to install the PPK Stage 2;

Regarding the latter I wonder if with the additional water cooler and the necessary new air ducts result in the removal of the fog lights (similar to the 335is)?

Does BMW provide an air duct which still enables one to keep the fog lights? As far as I know there is an air intake on the right side of the car (next to the fog light) anyway, so one would need a similar part for the left side to keep the fog light.

(My BMW dealer is not (yet) sure about that issue; I prefer experiences from people who have the PPK installed already)

Many thanks for your inputs on this topic.

I had the stage 2 PPK installed in my base model 335i (non sport) sedan. Initially, the dealership, not realizing it was the base model, readily agreed to install it, but ran into problems, such as missing the oil cooler which comes standard with sport package installed 335's, as well as the additional ductwork not fitting properly into the base level bumper trim. I know that others, in the USA at least, have been denied installation due to having a base model 335i, and I am the only that I know of who has managed to have it installed. They did not have to remove my foglights, they cut an unobtrusive hole in the plastic grillwork next to it.
They managed to make it work, but it took them a while to sort it all out.

Xdrive cars in canada had a PPK package available to them, so I imagine it will be fine for you in Switzerland.

My 2009 E93 M-Sport had PPK 2 installed; used specific ducting; fog lights retained.

Thumbs up

Many thanks for your feedback. I guess then it should not be a problem to keep them, now I only have to decide on which design I prefer (is without fog lights or with fog lights...)

Thanks once again!

Hi there fellow Schwizer

Just get the software and leave the rest! If you aren't tracking and you don't push your car a lot, leave it! Save the money for a FMIC! That's a lot better move then the much to expensive PPK2 thing....

PS I have the PPK1!
