OP, I would not recommend going much lower than your current pressure settings. As far as tire brand/models, Hankook Ventus V12s and Continetnal DWes are known for being pretty comfy in comparison.

Thanks everyone for the info!

I think a number of people have been assuming much more drastic drops in pressure than I was considering... It's not like I'm dropping to the 20s.

Anyway, sounds like 30/34 or so instead of 32/38 will be just fine, and keep reasonable protection against bubbles/potholes and add comfort without dramatically giving up anything except a little fuel mileage. (This matches with my experience as well...)
