Not sure about altitude, but we're on the west coast, so it's not that high up. Temp was definitely cool, around mid 60's since it was at night.
I'm sure it'd be lower on a hot day. But then again, in the Bay Area, it never really gets hot. It's always around 60's to 70's. |

Thanks Evo119. I've been looking for power curves for my car since I picked it up in March.

My understanding is (correct me if I'm wrong) that typical drivetrain losses on RWD cars is 15%. Plus, BMW is known to be conservative in their T/HP ratings. Therefore, if there is a 15% power loss in the drivetrain, this engine really puts out 240 HP and 218 lb-ft of torque. It feels that strong to me. |

Evo119:
Do you know if you have the ULEV or SULEV version of the 328? The ULEV has the N52KP engine and the SULEV has the N51 engine. |

Checking his 4th - 7th characters (VA33) against this list, he's got the ULEV. It would be interesting to see how the SULEV compares. 328i Coupe E92 WB33 N52 328i Coupe E92 WV13 N51 SULEV 328xi Coupe E92 WC33 N52 328xi Coupe E92 WV53 N51 SULEV 328i Sedan E90 VA33 N52 328i Sedan E90 VA37 N52 South Africa 328i Sedan E90 VC53 N51 SULEV 328xi Sedan E90 VC93 N52 328xi Sedan E90 VC73 N51 SULEV 328i Wagon E91 VS13 N52 328xi Wagon E91 VT73 N52 |

If i recall correctly, that same night they dynoed a buddies 325i step and it produced about 20hp less. I'm not sure if it was because the guys left it auto and not manually shifted, but it was a bit less.

I had my 08 328i AT, ULEV, on a Dynojet last month, exactly like the one pictured. After 4th gear the car kept upshifting so it was very hard to redline it. The guy asked me if there was some kind of dyno mode? I said not that I know of. Anyway, my Max Power was 186.31, and Max Torque was 174.99. 82.6 F, humidity 40%. I'll try to post the graph when they email it to me. They claim it's hard to dyno the automatic cars in step mode, and that it typically reads 18% less at the rear wheels. Kind of pisses me off that my numbers were so low....Whatever, my butt dyno tells me the car is now a little faster than stock. The shop guys that did the dyno were kind of asses, as all I had to listen to was them talk about their effin Mustangs, and how fast it does the 1/4 mi... I had an app at 6, and they put the car on at 9.

Thanks for posting Frankie. Great numbers!
What mods do you have? K&N filter and BMW performance exhaust or BMW performance intake? If we average the STD numbers and assume a 17% drivetrain loss, the engine is putting out ~250 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque. If we use the SAE numbers, we get ~243 hp and 220 lb-ft. |
