As far as I can tell from my own experience, trans cooler is not needed, even with FBO cars doing road courses a dozen time a year.

I did my first AT fluid change earlier this year (09 car, 41k miles back then, FBO, full E85, and tracked for a year before that), and stock fluid come out pretty clear and wasn't burnt at all. Just a bit of clutch materials suspended in it and stuck on the magnets on the oil pan. All this is stock cooling setup, no aftermarket oil cooler and radiator and I have hit 280F on the oil temp a few occasions at the track.

Replaced it with Redline D4 and had oil coole, auxiliary (335is) and upgraded radiator (CSF) installed as well. Plan on changing it again next spring just make sure the Redline fluid is as good as the overpriced OEM fluid. But I am sure it will be fine.

For a street car, I really wouldn't bother installing of trans cooler at all, considering it causes some pretty noticeable line pressure drops for whatever reasons.

We've updated the design slightly and I'm waiting on production to land for product/install photos. But one side uses the factory style connector w/ the a clip the other will use a silicone coupler.

I have been running it for almost a year and half now. Absolutely no complaints, especially for the price I paid. Direct replacement from stock. Only issue I ran into was the coupling that goes to the lower charge pipe wore out and would expand with the boost and force its self off the charge pipe, but ECS sent me a better replacement coupling free of charge and I have yet to have any other issues.

If you don't mind me asking, what spring are you using?

Yes the long version fits all years, only required for 09+ which is 1 piece. 07-08 is 2 pieces so it just replaces those 2 pieces.
