Vehicle Status

Just checked the 1-800 number and my status has switched from "in transit" to "your vehicle is at the port awaiting a vessel." I presume this means the car is off the ship, perhaps sitting in the VPC parking lot awaiting inspection.

My CA was supposed to call me today with updated information regarding expected arrival at the dealer, and hopefully I will get more precise details (if they call).

I am hoping the car can get through the VPC quickly to get on the truck to Seattle ASAP, but I am not optimistic and suspect it will be several days in Oxnard before hitting the road.

Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat (pun intended) after calling the 800 number and then talking to CA ("I'll get right back to you on the status..."). My only advantage is the trip to San Francisco is a little shorter.

Shorter indeed! Once my car gets to Seattle/Tacoma it has to get on another boat to the northland with a 4-5 day voyage to Alaska. There is a boat leaving Saturday, but it probably won't make it . I should have stayed in California.

That's why I moved back down here from Seattle (that and the Shawn Kemp).

You probably didn't entirely escape the Reign Man as I'm sure Shawn Kemp has a kid or two in the Bay Area (I think he has at least one in each NBA city). He was not only prolific on the basketball court...

What model did you order?

Hey guys,
The ship reached Port H on Saturday night (27) after stopping in San Diego and in LA. My guess is that it did unload other stuff there. The unloading did either start on Sunday the 28 or yesterday dependent on whether they work Sundays or not?
The 1-800 number is useless at the time it leaved the port in Germany (Bremerhaven). Form there on your dealer has the most updated information. The message "... awaiting a vessel" is the old one when it was in Bremerhaven and was waiting to get on the Pegasus Diamond.
Good news is that we are very close to get our car. I checked on the Owner Cycle page whether it is "in the VPC" but the site does still show "en route" which doesn't mean it is not in the VPC yet due to the very slow updating of this site. My experience was that the site is about 2 days behind the actual events.
Let me know what you dealer says, I will call mine later today.
Cheers Ingobingo

FWIW, my car arrived into PH on the 29th aboard Asian Emperor and the official cargo "discharge" time was 4:30 pm. So I'd imagine that anyone aboard Pegasus Diamond would be ahead of that.

Thats an interesting update - thank you very much! NYK line sucks - no information at all - does the Asian Emperor belong to W2? You seem to have a great traccking capability.

Yep, Asian Emperor is WW (aka W2). I also got a lot of info from one of the Mini forums because I seem to be the only poster around here who was on AE, but there were several Mini owners who tracked the ship obsessively. I also just talked to my CA who confirmed that my car was here and he was hoping for a delivery to me by this weekend (my dealership is about 25 miles from Port Hueneme, so that's probably helpful).

My vehicle was on the Pegasus Diamond, and it arrived at my dealership today. My CA tells me I can pick it up tomorrow or Thursday.

This is encouraging news! You guys zipped through the VPC, so I am hopeful my car will be headed north on I-5 shortly, maybe even today. You guys are really making me miss Socal.

I have a 328i wagon coming -- had to special order because I wanted a six speed and not an xi (if I lived where you do, I would get one). Not too many options, just sport package, leather, stereo and i-pod, pdc.

And you?

The CA called back today and said the car is in the prep center and will be on a truck sometime later this week. WOn't get in and gone over by the dealer until Monday at the earliest. I have to drive to Sacramento Tuesday for work and it would be nice to take it there....

My friend has a 328xi (e46) that I think is really cool. The e91 has a beautiful sculpted appearance which is very elegant. That might be the next addition to our family garage, with Xdrive of course.

I am waiting for a montego blue 335xi coupe (6MT, beige leather, aluminum trim). I wanted an M3, but it would be a waste to own one of those up here due to the limited roads of poor quality and our interminable winters.

Wow that is incredible - congratulations!
I just checked the OC site and it is tracking my car being in the VPC - with the usual delay that’s should mean it's close to get on the truck - I hope!
I am getting the aero kit installed at the VPC, I assume that this will add at least two days to the processing time.
Good luck to all and yes, its amazing how much excitement it is to be that close to your car pick up date

Guess what showed up this morning at the dealer? But, since it Halloween tonight and I'm jammed at work today, I will not be able to pick it up until tomorrow morning......

Quick turn around for some of you guys! My audi is currently listed as scheduled for relay to carrier on 11/1 which should mean it gets to the dealership about an hour later! (San Diego to Carlsbad) Hopefully that means a Friday or Saturday pickup.
