Yea, I personally hate chrome, but I wanted to retain the OEM styling. I love the lines on the brow. Originally, I was going to keep the brows stock, but it got scratched as the angel eyes were being fitted in. So I decided to paint them. I think I might like it even better now.

Lights look awesome. Would like to do a similar job to mine, but I wasn't sure about the sealer holding the lens to the headlight unit. How did you do it or did you use a guide of some sort?

This housing isn't stock, is it? Your car is pre-LCI right? Looks like LCI headlights, if you switched to LCI headlights how was the fitment?

Scrapped all that stuff out and replaced it with Koito butyl rubber sealant.

The headlights are stock Euro LCI Bi-Xenons that I had shipped over from Europe. The pre-lci and lci headlights are the same shape and size. I've been running these headlights since 2008. It's just that I wanted to refresh them a bit.

No. Everything else is black on the car. it would be best to paint the inside of the housing. it will integrate the look much better.

How did you get them open without cutting? Was it a huge pain in the butt scraping the stuff off to put down a clean seal?

They were baked. Heat allows you to pry and bend the plastic housing without breaking it. Also makes the sealant more workable. However, if you want to just let someone else handle it for you, there are shops out there that specifically do this.

Hmm, if I want to get rid of all yellow/amber on my headlights is my only option to buy Eurofit shrouds?

I really like the look of your head's, all clean white & black, no ugly amber.

Assuming you have xenons, shrouds would be the chrome parts inside. On mine, I painted them jet black.

You and I originally had the same headlights. The headlights I have now is out of a 2012 Euro LCI 3 series. Two completely different sets.

If you just want to take the orange reflector out, you can open it up and remove it or paint it, your choice. Another option is to just buy Euro headlights from ECS or on ebay from Germany.

They look great! I just hope you didn't use LightWurkz.

I sent a bunch of people there b/c their work online *looked* legit, but it turned out to be a total joke. Huge problems with alignment and cutoff and the link. And they definitely piggy-backed off of the hard-earned reputation of LightWerkz. I'm glad you like the Umnitza rings, but after Umnitza/LightWurkz jerked my chain and several referee's chains, I'm hesitant to order from them.

lol theres a shop called LightWurkz? No, I didn't use them. I do know LightWerkz tho, Ceasar is awesome. I can vouch for him and his team. I've seen a lot of their stuff in person, been to the shop, etc.

I do love the Umnitza V4s but I kinda wished I got the V2s, the V4s are way too bright lol Never thought I'd say that Mind me asking how Umnitza jerked you around? Luce Produkt is a good option for led rings. Ceasar's M3 has them.

If the V4's are too bright, you could most certainly find a way to dim them! ********* build an incredible custom LED ring solution w/ an Arduino that had a light sensor. At night, the rings ran at about 70% brightness, and during the day, 100%--just like the OEM LED AE rings on newer vehicles.

I like Luce Produkt, my issues don't reside there.
Umnitza greatly misrepresented what their headlight retrofitting kit included, and what their retrofitting partner (LightWurkz) would do. They claimed that the projectors used would be the FX-R V2.0, but really, they were all likely V1.0s that had been rejected for quality issues. Massively bowed cutoff, terrible alignment, streaky output, etc. And the pictures shown of retrofits were not at all what my referees received. It was sloppy work, shady customer service, and a greatly misrepresented product. You can look through my post history and see a little bit more.

I see. In that respect, I'd defiantly be wary of them. Luckily, I only needed the led rings to put in. Were you converting halogens to xenons or just swapping exiting projectors? I just had the lens swapped to the STi-R 3" lens and Osram CBI bulbs. Razor sharp cutoff and great light intensity.

I already have the AHL Xenons, but I was advising people on upgrade paths from halogen to xenon, there was some group coding work done, etc. I have to say, one of the more "useful" threads I've seen!

I'm jealous! For now, the BMW's a family car and not mine personally, but if that situation ever changes, I'm absolutely throwing CBIs and some clear lenses in there.

But who knows, I've started crushing hard on an E24 M6...now retrofitting that myself would be a REAL challenge!

Personally, I think it's easier to just buy factory xenons and code them to the car. That's what I did. German Ebay has a lot of oem sets for sale.

YES! CBIs and clear lenses make a world of difference.

M6s are gorgeous cars, but a tad long IMO. Not my style, a 5 would be the biggest I'd go, plus I prefer 4 doors. However, I demand a pic build thread if you do attempt this.

These look great. Did you have problems getting the LCI xenons to properly work on your preLCI? What parts did you need besides bulbs, ballasts, LED corners.... did you need any special wire harness?

I just completed my LCI front msport conversion on my preLCI and it looks great besides the damn prelci ambers on xenons
