So is this is good app for coding? I want to get into coding but the programs like winkfp and ncsexpect seem difficult to use.

How does this app compare to those?

I tried using the lite version on my 04/2007 335i with an ELM327 bluetooth adapter and it says it cannot code via bluetooth. Anyone had this issue? Is it possible that my 04/2007 has the pre-03/2007 limitations?

Sounds like you probably need the cable. Its cheap on Amazon.

Is there anyone that coded the rear view mirros to both dip when going into reverse?

So how does this app compare to the other coding programs out there? The app certainly seems easy to use, but is this at a loss of capability? Limited coding options?

Yes.
You can only code what is in the app.
It's limited but has quite a bit.

Hi, i just got the BMWhat BT dongle and installed their Free Lite app. I am able to connect to the dongle and detect 5 or 6 (sometimes 5 and sometimes 6??) ECUs, but it failed to communicate to any of the ECU with "communication : Insufficient" thou.

Please help and chime in.

In my opinion, the only module that is really missing (at least one that i care about coding) is CCC/CIC. I did talk to the developers of the app a couple of months ago and was told that it was in the works. So pretty soon, this app should handle most of the coding needs that the average person cares about.

No all you need if your phone is capable is a $4 OTG cable for android. Works like a charm on the older cars, uses same coding cable that i use for Alpina flash and such.

I had similar issues, today i went out to my car armed with an ELM 327 BT reader and my LG G3 Android running BMWhat full.

I was able to read and clear codes but not perform any coding, it said i needed USB (even though my build date was 07/2007). Did it say this to you?

Thanks
Vish

They just released a new usb wifi/Bluetooth and supposedly it works now.
I would recommend waiting until someone try's it or just buy the usb and adaptor since that for sure works for coding and cheaper... Goodluck

I am in contact with someone from Ivini via email. My adapter works for sure as it worked on my friend E90.

I reckon my car just needs their USB lead, even though it's post 03/2007.

This is my concern right now also and it is keeping me from buying the BT adapter...my build date is 11/2007 but it is not an "LCI"...LCI didn't happen until 2009 in the US, I think.

I do have the INPA cable I just bought from one-stop electronics to do the Alpina B3 mod so I will see if the BMWhat light version can use that to see the ECU tomorrow. Just gotta go get an OTG adapter from Verizon or something.

My car is a 1/08 build and the ivini BT adapter works great for reading and clearing faults, coding, and I also reset my new battery. I had to choose 'alternate connection' in the settings menu to get normal/reasonable connection speed however. I saw this tip in one of the youtube videos.

Ah that's interesting. Although I'm pretty sure mine is the older ECU type, I might try that this week.

I have been using BMWhat for a while and it is great if you dont already code. The monitoring is good too, but there are other apps that also do that. Not sure if there are other apps that monitor all the diesel scr sensors though.

That being said, I effed up my system by removing an SCR pump without first removing the battery ground, so this little biatch is throwing new codes now that I can clear with BMWhat but they always come back.

Just ordered a powersupply because I have to start coding now to see if I can access the fault codes which BMWhat cant.
