MHD is the newcomer. Used BavTech cable is cheaper than a MHD setup. Though I agree MHD is better from a user perspective, I went BB flash because the maps were not mature enough at the time and was unproven. I may eventually got MHD but nothing wrong with BB Flash either.

So while flashing, the battery charger is hooked up to the BATTERY in the trunk, not from the engine charging pole? I read mixed information from different thread. Some states that if you charge directly to the battery will mess up the IBS.

The IBS won't know about you charging the battery if you use the trunk method. But the IBS role is to optimize the battery lifetime, so using the trunk method a couple of times is not an issue. I actually use my charger in the trunk and have done hundreds of flashes.
