If camber is out of spec you need the adjustable camber arms (the upper arms) so that you can get camber back into spec if the lower eccentric doesn't have enough range. The toe arm will give you a wider adjustment of toe (and generally be a good arm to replace) but I don't see how replacing the toe arm is going to change your camber.

Little confused.
According to what BMW calls the rear arms: Camber: Upper=Wishbone (17) Lower= Camber link (4) Toe: Steering arm with ball joint (13) Caster (?): Guide rod (18) What is the trailing arm (10)? For rear M3 arms, I already have the upper and lower camber arms. Was going to go with Megan Racing for the toe arm and possibly the guide rod as well and press on new bushings for the trailing arm. What I see is Megan Racing calling one of their arms a "trailing arm" and is discribed as adjusting caster http://www.ebay.com/itm/Megan-Racing...5aaf23&vxp=mtr So, is that Megan racing arm for replacing the trailing arm or is it for the Guide rod? Or am I not even close? Last edited by Casca; 11-27-2013 at 04:21 PM.. |

I like you Paulito - you're entertaining. Perhaps you'll explain how toe arms will solve a rear camber issue? Also, very interested to know what the correct terminology is - where did I go wrong? |

It is a touch bizarre. Paulito has a rear camber issue - too much negativity. So. Looks like he's going to try to correct by purchasing adjustable rear toe arms, replacing #14 below: I installed HP Autowerk's arms myself - black anodized - my setup: Now, of course rear toe arms are not going to correct a pronounced overly negative rear camber setting. Without new suspension components, Paulito needs to raise his ride, we can probably agree. There is no other way to decrease neg camber as he's out of camber adjustment. Or am I missing something? Megan should be able to solve your problem w/adjustable upper arms, and maybe I saw an adjustable rear camber arm....I like changing alignments from time to time. Run 1.5 - 2.5° neg camber up front - 1.5 - 2.0° neg rear camber. Toe I keep stock - don't adjust caster like some track fiends. Megan toe arms match M3 elastomer bushings but in a form factor that fits my plebeian 335i....love those guys.... |
