Once the update is done (without your knowledge at an oil change?), you will throw the CEL. Federal law requires them to implement emissions fixes, so I doubt you can convince your dealer to violate federal law for you and NOT update the DME. |

your right the update did do that. However I have had CEL's for 4 or 5 months? haven't had BMW do my oil changes. In this case there is only one reason for his lack of CELs. He knows it and has spoke on it. But for some reason chooses not to say so on a regular basis.

A little OT, but we'll need to hit the dyno again soon because my UR catted DPs are on their way...know any shop good enough to install them? Also, I understand your V2 is on its way, so pls let me know when you get it installed so we can go for a drive!

As for a shop, I would not be able to suggest anyone as I always do these things myself. So, if you wanted to make a afternoon of it and drive up to Woodstock, I would be glad to swap them for you. |

I am easy, Miller Light or Bud Light. I am more of a quantity versus quality person. Let me know when they arrive and we will schedule a Saturday. In reviewing the information in the install, I see they will be easier than the B5 S5 downpipes which took me about 5 hours. I suspect these will take 3 - 4 hours. It is especially nice since they are on the same side and a single band clamp versus three bolts (rusted) each. I would especially be interested in us running out on I-575 for some pulls afterwards. It would be a V1.47 with DP's against a V2.0.1. |

Cruise at 45 mph or so for about 5-10 minutes at lite throttle a couple of times and the catless pipe should throw a code.
Any of the various O2 simulators on the market should work; the 2 sensors up by the engine are for the a/f; the ones on the other side of the cats are the same- the ODB-II reads before cat and after cat; if the voltage isn't different it'll throw a light. The sensor simulators just modulate the voltage for the rear O2's at a different level so the ECU thinks everything is great. |

Hey guys, I will be making simms soon for those that experience the no cat CEL. Traditional simms won't work as the rear o2 sensor voltage doesn't switch around .5mv, but worry not we've got a solid design on the table.

Terry, that is good to hear and I am sure you will have a market here for them. The sooner the better as I suspect a ton of people will be installing the Riss very soon.
