i had my 330 egged. One egg. Sat over night and ate the clear. Its easy to take care of if you know what you are doing. If you dont, do not attempt because you WILL ruin the paint. My girls 325 was also egged and i had to do some minor repair work. Bring your car by, if it can be fixed ill fix it for you.

Sorry to hear about the egging!
A clay bar won't help. The shell of the egg immediately damages the paint. It will need to be wetsanded and touched up. Shouldn't be more than $150. ![]() |

If it sat for more than a couple of hours the clear coat is probably toast. Last time it happened to me, I was driving and rinsed it immediately. Ate through the clear and had to have the hood stripped and repainted.

It's probably too late now, but supposedly soaking a towel in warm white vigar solution and leaving it on the egged areas for an hour and then rinsing can minimize the damaged appearance?

i went to check out her car. There was 1 egg that hit her side panel. Other egg landed on the floor next to her car. The one that hit dripped, but after i saw it, it didn't make a HUGE paint damage. The only thing that is a little visable is where the egg actually hit. I looks like tiny little fine scratches in circular motion where the egg hit. Also a little paint chip or two in that egg size area. Luckily the egg didn't eat out the paint to where it's noticable.
In either case i'll clay bar her can and apply zaino products to see what will happen. yeah newark can be pretty bad. I'm always scared to park my car when i go visit my girl. These knucle heads don't have anything better to do. My neighbors are pretty cool, all of them know me, and on holoween night my next door neighbor was goign to stay in his porch all night to be on a watchout for knucleheads throwing eggs, he offered to watch my car as well, but i told him, i'm not going to risk it, i'm parking in my brother garage a block away. Anway it will be ok babe

If that doesn't work. Get compound and a Porter Cable buffer with a wool pad. I use 3M, works magic. This will remove fine scratches from the clear coat. After that Polish the compounded area and it will be just like new. This is how I also removed bird shit stains that eat the clear after they sit for a while.

Those would be the first steps that I'd take. If for some reason that doesn't solve the problem, find a good detailer. I'm sure they've seen plenty of this before and would probably have some additional advice.

I would not use a wool pad and a porter cable. You will just cause marring. I would not use a compound without knowing how to detail a car either. Like another post said, use the least abrasive polish/pad and work your way up if needed. I would try claying and multiple passes with scratch-X with a microfiber towel by hand. If you have a porter cable, we can recommend other products. I recommend this thread being moved over to the Wash/Wax/Detailing forum where you will get better advice. Wool pad = very abrasive Rubbing compound = very abrasive

Somehow I knew your location was gonna say NY or NJ.... That really sucks though. Some people are just douchebags.

I have mixed feelings, sometimes I like looking out of my window in suburbia, and seeing the 5-bed/4 bath million plus dollar homes that haven't lost much in the subprime era, and thinking someday they'll demolish my 58 y.o. house and put one of them in my lot. On the other hand, maybe funny in retrospect, I miss the action like when 4 guys tried to jump me in the Times Sq. train station back in Feb., and I fought them like I was in a jackie chan movie. It's much different when it's you and you're not watching a movie. Lots of other typical New Yorkers had that "don't want to get involved" attitude so I can tell you I had my hands very busy with two thugs. Two bolted when the train was halted and the siren was blowing. Wouldn't you know no Transit Cops to be found, as is usually the case when you need them. Again, in retrospect, it was fun seeing what I could do when faced with thugs, but next time the outcome will be unpredictable.

my car was egged last night. well "morning". it was almost 1 a.m. and i was driving home from a friend's down a straight road. on the right is residential lined by a tall concrete wall and the other side is the other two lanes of the road along a school. out of nowhere i hear a pop and see yolk up the passenger side of the windshield. i live 4 miles away so i rushed home to clean it up and i wasn't planning on reporting it to the cops because big deal, windshield, it was fresh, it'll come right off. as i was cleaning, i noticed the shattering of the shell left this blooming bulls-eye on my hood because that was the point of impact. i was pissed, rushed back to the scene, matched up my car with yolk remnants on the ground and had the police come. i went home while he knocked on doors and inspected backyards and in the morning i awoke to a message on my cell saying that he had no leads and basically couldn't do anything for me. i'm glad my paint/clear coat didn't get eaten through but the damage from the impact sucks. i haven't touched it other than clean it but i'm wondering if buffing away the roughness of it and applying polish or something will make it less noticeable
