That's very interesting! My last 3 cars were VWs (All we get here is VW/Audi) and I always thought VAG was joined at the ass with Borg Warner until they started using IHI turbos on 2.0T TSI (08.5-13'). Of course in the US we don't get half the engine choices and configurations the ROW (rest of world) gets. Only gas turbo VAG applications the US got were 1.8T 99-05' all BW k03 turbos replaced by 2.0T FSI 06-08.5' all BW k03 turbos revised to 2.0T TSI 08.5-14' all IHI turbos we still called k03 (no MKVII to be found in the US yet). Oh yeah Golf R FSI with BW k04 and a new 1.8T turbo which I have no idea about

I had no clue they were putting on different turbos in other countries.

All the cars i mentioned are TDI's



Basically 90% of diesel VAG cars over here use Garretts. Some were KKK but have a few issues with them generally on the tdi.

The KKK is similar to the mitsu on a bmw. They like to shit themselves


I had a 1.8t ko3s skoda octavia vrs too. I think it again was a garrett but i never really looked

Actually has a turbo and supercharger. Goes amazingly quickly for a 1.4l, nobody over here even believe's it, most people just think im talking b.s lol
