I ended up paying considerably less than that at the end of the project..through the help of partial sponsorships and the fact that I was able to recover some $$ by selling alot of my prior "sedan" parts. I have tried to make a guess at how much it would cost someone to this from scratch with only the expenses, no sponsorships, and no parts to sell. The number I have come up with in the past is somewhere in the $7-$10K range.
