I should probably add that this is along side a JB4. I guess they would still make a big difference to a standard car.

I've got AR DP's, not fitted them yet, do u guys leave them on when u drop ur car off for servicing ? DP's is possibly the most difficult performance mod to get off in a warranty situation, still debating if it's worth the hassle...

Why do you feel the need to swear and be so agressive?

Its an unbolt, bolt back job! Adjustment wise just gotta get clearance right...all in all i fancy the challenge.

As for access google 'pit start'

As for saving pennies...look at my build thread. Working on my car is a passion...not a money saving venture!

So take some advice...stop making assumption... and if you feel like swearing and being the biggest keyboard warrior take it somewhere else. This forum isnt like that.

Hope you enjoy trying to save a couple of hundred quid while snapping fasteners and bleeding from the knuckles, while lying on yr back getting exhaust rust in your eyes.. Just to find out they rattle on full lock and need the slightest adjustment...

It is a fairly tough job but it is more fiddly than anything else. A lot of trial and error but certainly not impossible as some like to make it seem!

Am not too certain but I think running cattless downpipes can cause your emissions light to come on. A remap/tune can sort that out but clearly it's not a warranty friendly mod....Personally I say forget the warranty and just get stuck into modding Your love it, though your wallet/bank account most definitely will not

I would love to have the skill/confidence to do a downpipes install my self, but sadly am a bit kack handed and even yet to work up the courage to try changing brake pads my self

I have VRSF DP's and they are awesome. They triggered the EML but turned on the JB4 auto code clearing function.

Aggression..? Because I used 1 "adult" word ..?? Really..? Maybe you should only read the internets before the watershed, just incase..

You made the assumption by saying I had done no research. Maybe it's you that needs to take the advice.

I have been 'nutting and bolting' for 20 years and have built some of the most advanced machinery on the planet. I was merely explaining that it's worth the money to pay someone to do it who has the correct equipment, as it's a shit job. I genuinely hope you can do it yourself. The satisfaction from seeing something like that completed, is great. If you don't want my advice, don't take it. No need to get so uptight.

I'm sure you know already, but be sure to check for wastegate rattle while the pipes are off, as it's the perfect time to make the minor adjustment required.

As for the "keyboard warrior" comment.... Oh dear....

Peace guys.

From what I've read, it's NOT an easy job.

But then again nothing is easy for me as I'm crap at DIY.

Good feedback guys.
Have just purchased a pair of VRSF down pipes and will be making that looong trip up north soon after their arrival... unless somebody comes back with a garage that has done this a few times nearer to home???

I would go for Birds if you don't fancy the drive. They always get good feedback. No idea on price though.

If you are going for DW I would give them a call now, as they are always booked solid for at least 2 weeks.

Tricky one that.
I've spoken to Birds a few months ago about installing dp's and found that
a) they weren't 'nicely' priced and
b) they made lots of negative noises about going with dp's not supplied by themselves possibly requiring more work with me incurring costs.
Totally understandable being upfront about it but didn't give me much faith in coming out of there without a sizable hole in my pocket.
This was after I had read a thread about them adding costs substantially to someone's job after agreeing a price.
I'll give DW a call.
Oh and the reason I say it's a tricky one is that it'll cost me around £100 round trip to DW and about £15 to get to and from Birds.
The difference in fitament cost is almost negated plus 8hrs drive versus 2hrs.

Anyone know how long it generally takes for the dp's to be delivered from VRSF?

Depends if your willing to bend over by birds. A few members had VSRF fitted by DW and had no problem dealing with them = a plus point for me

A member got birds to fit VSRF and ran into fitment problems and adding alot of extra hours on top =negative point for me

You will save money going to birds if they stick to the quote labour.

Ordered mine a few days ago, will let you know. I expect around 2 weeks.

by any means, if you have deep pockets then you can save yourself alot of hassle by going birds.
