The exhaust is barely louder than the stock exhaust with dps and golf tee mod while driving with the windows up. You really only hear it it on downshifts and when you hold gear 1 or 2, and even then its not loud when you have the windows up. Its about as loud as a stock Infiniti FX when not being pushed.

It's all good. I know everyone likes to get it together for the spring. I was really impressed with the results of the exhaust and wanted to let all the locals know the steps to recreate my results.

Okay, last question, I promise: any chance you can get a cold start video with the flap closed? Curious what kind of difference it makes. I understand if it's too much trouble, haha.

No problem. I'm away from my car for a day or two. I'll get one for you by the end of the weekend.

I filmed a video of a start up with the flap closed. Its really hard to discern a difference in the volume vs the video with the flap open on video. I couldn't really tell which is which. However, it was quieter when driving down the street and the burble was suppressed. I'll edit a video and send you the link tonight, but I'd suggest you hear it in person. As I mentioned before, its loud for a few seconds (10 or so) then it starts to quiet down.

Video of a cold start with flap closed. Note, the video doesn't show the sound of the exhaust after it warms for a bit. It was primarily taken to illustrate the volume.
[u2b]http://youtu.be/RrL9JtsYmz8[/u2b]

Forget what I said above. It is quieter with the flap closed, but the idling is similar (not shown in video). I "revved" the engine to about 1.5-2k and there is no burble like there is with flap open (as shown in the video).

I'm not sure why i can't embed this video like the other two. Perhaps there is a limit for the forum?

Have you heard a PE in person? Would you say this is as close as you've heard? I was planning on getting the PE without downpipes, but if this really is the same sound and for way cheaper I think this sounds like the way to go.

I've not had a chance to hear the PE in person. But it sounds similar on video. I was also going to get the PE, but the look of the PE tips kept me from purchasing them.

Ya, I don't really like the tips either. I like the VRSF tips, but I'm probably just gonna get some Cyba tips. I just want a similar sound to the stock exhaust, with a bit more volume. And maybe a little more turbo whistle.

Would you say this is what you achieved?

When driving its like the stock exhaust with dps and flap open on a e92. Only with more volume. I really think it has the volume and the "rhythm" of an Infiniti FX. Of course the start up is louder and has burbles and pops when I intentionally let off the gas in first or second (i do this quite a bit now).

Oh alright. So it sounds like it's perfect for me. I may have this done soon. Thanks for the post!

Almost bought that x-pipe before realizing I didn't need to. Apparently the e92 already has an x-pipe, so I'd only have to get the perforated pipes and possibly the tips replaced.

You're correct. No Xpipe needed for the e92.
Do it! You're going to love it.

Nah, I'm in Austin (and San Antonio on some weekends). If anyone has suggestions in that general area, let me know.
