If you want to start you car you can do that. Or, you can put you key fob in (or not if you have CA) and with foot off brake hit the start button twice. Once, just activates radio. Twice will activate everything else. You'll be able to tell for sure if you air conditioning system is on.

Think of it like in most cars with a real key. There is an accessory "ACC" position (which turns on the radio and some other accessories, and this is what one push turns on with our cars), and there is one position past that called "IGN" or ignition (the second push on our cars). Turn it to ignition and those circuits are live. Then (in a car with a key) you turn it to the momentary-on "START" position to start the car.

With our cars, the second push is the one that turns on the ignition. Just keep your foot off the brake LOL

CA users it's the same, you just don't put the key fob in the slot....
