I also have this bonnet issue it's common google it, seems the only way to try make it appear more flush is to remove the bumper and shift the bumper bar up which the bumper rests on. I still have to do it so carnt comment on if it works

it makes me feel a little bit better if nothing else that its nothing sinister. I can live with it as it is, like i said i didn't even notice it on first inspection when buying it and i was looking at every detail. Bad news on my H8 CREES that i got at a to good to be true price on eBay. The seller says they are faulty and has given me a full refund, so the search continues. |

So got in from work as this is really begining to annoy me now and took off the four bolts. The problem with this is you cant really adjust it as they have to locate in the same holes so this didnt help.
I also came accross a botched repair job on one of the brackets but it seems to still locate in the same position and be pretty solid so its not contributing to the problem. Sometimes it just best not to look! Then to just totally discredit that the after market grills are doing this I took them out also and took this picture with the bonnet down and no bolts which looks much better, but the bolt locators are about 20mm away from the holes. and then decided to fit it all back together non the wiser. This picture from the side on to me shows that the bonnet is the problem as it sticks out way further than both the lights and bumper. Up to this point though the shut lines are spot on. I have read other posts about the bonnet alignment issues, but this seems to be for the height, not the overhang. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=549311 Any continued help much appreciated. Why not try loosening the bonnet at the hinges and see if it's adjustable as in if it goes back any. Yes the rubber grommet things at the front are for adjusting the height.

How do you drop the height on the grommets? I turned them but it didnt appear to make any difference as it seems to be the bonnet catches that utlimately decide the height. |

I would imagine twist them clockwise to screw them in to lower or anti clockwise to raise. Get down and have a look as your twisting them to see which way is what.

Hi, I have just got in from work and done that, they were already pretty much at their lowest, the driver side had a few turns which has improved it slightly, bonnet still juts out though by about 10mm but now sits slightly lower. Through rushing and messing with the bumper before heading out to Old Trafford to watch that shambles last night i managed to lose a screw down the side of the light, will this just sit on the floor tray? Sometimes i dont know why i bother!

Did i find somewhere else there was a way to retrieve codes without a reader when the warning is on the dash? By holding the computer toggle button?

if you have small triangle warning on th bottom screen , go to servises ,press and hold button and you should see fault code ,for example CC-ID 134
if you have android ,buy obd bluetooth adapter and download bmwhat or torque app , it will alow to scan and clear codes |

If you have also been reading my thread on the tech section, the BMW recall came in very handy and replaced all 6 coils so iv had a full week of trouble free motoring touch wood!
So i decided to treat her to a little something. The fit, colour match and finish is excellent and so was the price, even including additional taxes due to them undervaluing the package. Really happy with it and it finishes off the car brilliantly. |

Gave the car its first proper clean since i have had it in a month. A few little niggles with a few hairline scratches on the paint and a few ropey touch ups, but actually managed to polish quite a lot out. Sorry for the pics, not the best choice of location, to many reflections to really get an idea of whats going on.
Also mocked one up in photoshop to show white LED's that i am going to order soon. Opinions welcome. Andy |

great photos but really not a fan of those grilles with the big bushy eyebrow things on top, never seen those on a coupe before! would look 100x better with oem grilles or the propper coupe black ones IMO! good shout on the angel eyes though.

Iv heard that before, but i actually really like them, they look more robust than the standard ones which i think have to many spindles. All a matter of opinion i suppose.

Hi, been away for a while, while completing my masters , but im back and have a few things im working on to tidy up the old girl.
First of all is wrapping the aluminium hex trim. First of all tried a black gloss but the pattern came through to much and it was to shiny. Then i chose this 4d carbon fibre vinyl, much happier with this. Really nice finish. All was going well until i reached the front and rear centre console. How do you remove the chrome tab? I can see the locators, but how do you remove and more importantly apply it again once wrapped. Next up is new wheel badges, new wheel centres, leather conditioning and full exterior valet and detail to tidy up some minor scratches from a friend of mine who is a detail nut and is a tester for auto finesse on detail world. Thanks for any help, looking forward to seeing the finished results. Andy Last edited by andydutton; 10-13-2014 at 01:49 PM.. |
