Lol it sounds like the spring was working perfectly fine .. Trust me go back to your unpainted spring 11psi .. The bov should stay closed at start up .. Maybe open for half a second and then close right back up .. And its not supposed to open under boost either .. Were u getting a flutter with the unpainted spring? Its not and if its closed at idle then thats perfect

11 is yellow spring. Switching to it tomorrow. It's supposed to open off throttle (vent boost, post load, whatever the hell you want to call it), which it wasn't with an unmodified unpainted spring which clearly was not the correct spring.

In the lid of a home depot bucket.. But barbed fitting in one of the holes and regular snap on fitting in the other with washers and bolts on the other side to tighten and seal .. The air in line running to a nebulizer and the air out line just one of those yellow coil lines with a on and off trigger nozzle..(this way i can build pressure in the bucket for a little) and insides i just lined it with a ton of aluminum foil (to keep from burning a whole in the bucket) and a ton of incense stuck into the aluminum foil and smoking .. Worked amazing.. I bought a fog machine to but ended up going the incense route cuz the fogger steam was way to hot .. And will leave a oily residue in the lines .. Idk how to post a video on here or would lol |

Yellow spring is in. BOV is back to normal. No more fluttering, no more 2 stage venting BS.

And for anyone else following this thread i did alot more research last night and saw that a few other people had cracks in the same exact spot .. Its very close to where the pcv is.. This is why rob beck made the upgraded pcv .. If that pcv goes bag it can leak pressure into the valve cover and cause a ton of problems .. Assuming this is why my valve cover cracked so i ordered the new pcv and putting in the new valve cover with it next week or when ever it arrives .. The one thing im still confused about it why im not getting the typical lean codes on bank one and 2 and why the pcv isnt throwing a code .. Again the only codes im throwing is overboost and mis on cylinder one .. Why not a random mis on all cylinders?

I been following this thread and I'm still confused. My car might hit 5 psi tops. The bov makes the screaming like sound until I let off the gas and then the bov goes off. I'm rocking the yellow spring the he the tial comes with

my car kind of does this too.
JB4 running map5 and I was hitting boost then it would just cut out around 5k then boost again. codes from JB4 say O2 sensor but the guys at Active said it could be vacuum lines. Only get a half engine light and then limp mode, sometimes when i WOT but then somtimes it's fine and sometimes just the engine light (will check if its whens its hot or cold)
