Question for Normanh and Beauforty -

Why the swap to Audi, out of interest?

I am sure we will see you again soon!

Had my Audi for 5 months in 2006 before going back to BMW....

But good luck with the new car anyway!

Fancy a change, I like the appearance of the S5 over the 335i, and the Audi interior is just stunning. More for a change really. I haven't made my decision yet so who knows?

Have you driven any A5 series yet mate?

i Have driven the 3.0tdi A5 coupe, altho a wonderful car, not quite as dynamic and the 3 series coupe. Interior very stylish but also very hard, Seats do not have much give.. and are not as supportive as the bolster squishing sport seats!

Been out in an S5 and altho she was quick she didnt feel ballistic at all.. A great car, but if it was my money I would go for the 335i. Wait untill the RS5 comes out

if only they were 2WD!

Yikes - a front wheel drive RS5! The mind boggles.

WTF no they are 4WD, but i think the car would be better if it was 2WD ie RWD, but that wouldnt/isnt in Audi's ehtos unfortunately, and obviously understandably.

I realise that the RS4 is 4WD and the RS5 is likely to be. You are suggesting a 2WD RS5, which as you say, with Audi's 'ethos' would be FWD.

Hi, the S5 is 4wd, as will the RS5. I dont think any A5 coupe is FWD!

I know. I'm just saying that you said a 2WD RS5 would be good and I was trying (unsuccessfully) to say that if Audi made a 2WD RS4/5 they would power it through the front wheels as none of their cars are RWD.

Sorry - I'm being pedantic. Perhaps you should have said a RWD RS5 would be good.

Audi offer vehicles with 'front wheel drive' or 'four wheel drive' (quattro).

They do not produce anything with 'rear wheel drive'.

The 3.0tdi and S5 engines available for the A5 now have 'four wheel drive' (quattro).

Next year the range will be increased with 1.8 turbo and 2.0 deisel engines with front wheel drive.

Hence a '2 wheel drive' Audi would be FRONT wheel drive.

So im right, at present ALL A5's are 4WD. Didnt think there was a FWD one about.

I never SAID AUDI PRODUCE ANYTHING WITH RWD...FFS I was just pointing out i wish they did it in RWD as I FANDANGO would PREFER IT

I WAS USING 2WD for reference for RWD and that i would prefer it.....

Stop with the WTF !!! and FFS !!! and the CAPITAL LETTER SHOUTING then ....

You didn't say RWD you said 2WD. Audi will be making the A5 with 2WD and as with all of their other non-quattro cars the driven wheels will be the front ones.

Now apologise to everyone in this thread right away please

Apologise is spelt with an 's' in this country ..

Now ES-Jet (and I) did not assume anything.

You said 2wd and because of his knowledge of the Audi platform he pointed out that a 2wd Audi would be FWD.

Now .. I understand that you knew this and that you meant RWD. However, you didn't write RWD - you wrote 2WD.

This directly led to the confused series of posts that this thread has become.

Thank you for your apology .. now .. no more shouting please
