Yeah, me too. The OBC on mine is always 1-2 mpg lower than the hand calculated value.

Yeah but by how much? I'm only thinking a 2-3mpg difference between DS and D mode.

Long ago I posted in a discussion about the basically 4 programs that were in effect with our cars engine management. A steady state moderate program in both DS and D, and then another one for each of DS and D that came into play when you got aggressive. As I recall, the car stays in the aggressive program for a while after you stop being aggressive, and then it reverts to the "steady state" program. I wish I could find that old thread.

I do a lot of city driving in Long Beach area too, it is really rare that the MPG gets to 27 overall. Mostly 30 MPG. |

How did you find out the injectors needed to be replaced? Cel? My car has been in for service twice this year (ac squeal), and I complained that my city mpg seemed low, but they couldn't find anything.

I tried searching a way to change the OBD MPG readout but I had no luck.

I had to take the car in twice - the first time they found an oil leak and fixed the offending hose, which stopped oil from dripping over all the belts. The noise kept coming back, so they replaced the ac drive belt. Seems fixed now.

My typical daily driving is 80% highway with cruise set at 70-72. My hand calculated average in those conditions is 35-36 mpg. That includes 1 full throttle burst every day (I love interstate onramps!!) In recent all highway trips
@ 70mph its 40 mpg @ 75mph its 38 mpg @ 80mph its 36 mpg. Speedo (which is what above speeds are based on) is about 4mph faster than my gps app shows. Hope that makes sense. |
