The green one. You should have the original green loom left over after replacing it with the new one. I found this post a very useful summary (on vishnu support forum)

i had troubles with getting the procede connected today. after many installed and uninstalled and rebooted, it finally recognized the usb driver. this was my procedure: open device manager, plug the usb cable into the laptop, observe to see what COM it is assigned, connect the usb cable to procede, turn ignition on, open procede reader, select COM, then go online. i couldn't go online if i opened the procede reader first before turning on ignition.

I don't think it's really stirring the pot...I can see how some people might think it is, but in the end, it's pretty much just an observation and it's relative to the topic. Besides, my post will be pulled soon enough anyway...they usually are.

It's all a game to you.

The difference between you and I is I read a thread and if I can help I give the OP my opinion on what will help him. If I have no help for the OP I don't write stupid off topic responses to see how fast you can run over to Bimmerforums and tell them how you got censored.

That's certainly one way of looking at it...and by all means you're entitled to your opinion...but you won't see me sqashing your right to make it...and you won't see me slamming you for posting your opinion.

I think my opinion on this topic is relavent...you don't, and you're entitled to that. It's not a game to me...actually I think it's more of a game to this forum. There is certainly more than one way to look at a thread and contribute to it...you might not like what I contribute but is doesn't mean it's not a contribution.

What exactly did you contribute to this thread with that kind of post? I don't think anyone will find that as contribution but rather ignorant comments.

If the car runs fine with no codes with the updated bypass plugs installed, the problem is definitely not the wiring. That's a basic troubleshooting step. The problem must be something wrong with the PROcede.

It has nothing to do with your install expertise since you're following all the directions.

It's just fate that you would have a shitty install experience. That's just the way it goes sometimes I guess. I had exactly the opposite experience. No issues, install went fine, testing went flawless, 70 mile test drive testing different RPMs and gears according to Eugen's suggestions went fine. No codes and it's way stonger with a flatter torque curve than before and I'm running 95% instead of 100% torque of the default user map.

Don't know what to advise at this point. Hopefully someone from Vishnu can clear this up next week. Glad the customer car is running well with the boost plug installed!

Power up the procede with a 12v bench supply and re-upload the v2 software and maps to it. then try again. Also check that the pins that power the procede in the harness actually have 12v on them with a volt meter

If power wasnt going to it, would we have still been able to upload the maps in the first place?

I think my contribution speaks for iself but let me spell it out for you since you appear to be ignorant...aren't you just the pot calling the kettle black??

My point here is that someone is having a problem with their Procede (isn't that a surprise) and who offers help...Terry, the same guy Shiv is always bad mouthing. Where's Shiv...he's either out slamming Terry on another forum, spending the money people sent him for their long awaited V2 on improving the next version...or possibly he may be hard at work filling orders so his customers can get what they ordered and paid for sometime before the end of the year.

My point being, there are MANY posts on here with people having problems with their Procede units and I don't see Shiv responding to them...that's kind of odd by my standards. He hasn't been shy about posting in the past.

So you can call it ignorance, or of no value, but I see it differently. Shiv has went to great trouble to trash the JB system in many instances...but what's interesting is that I ordered mine and less than 24 hours later it was on my doorstep...I installed it without issue and the performance exceeded my expectations. Terry clearly made himself available the day I installed the unit if I had any questions, but everything was clear and easy to understand so his assitance was not needed. But here he is trying help his competitors customers and he won't get so much as a thank you...and as it appears that customer won't get the help he needs either.

So, I didn't want to go into this much detail, I didn't think it was required, but sometimes you need to spell things out for the ignorant...and just so we're perfectly clear you started the name throwing first. Don't start a battle of wits, you're clearly unarmed...how's that!

Ado and MrOffshore,
At this point neither of you are contributing to this thread. I understand where you are coming from with the insinuations(viable if you ask me) but they still arent helping me figure out this install.

From here on please stop with the "I got the last word in" stuff. We get the point that both of you are trying to make.

I need help from people who have installed this and maybe have had the same problems.

Thank you.

Now, someone said to "reset the ECU". How do I go about doing that?

Point taken, I will refrain from this point forward and I wish you the best in getting the Procede running, I know the thing produces some serious power and you will enjoy it.

Exclamation

Please do 2 simple things:

1) during installation you had to replace a green loom by another one with a short red piece of shrink-hose on it. Please check if such a loom is connected between the PROcede and the ECU now.

2) disconnect the thick, black battery wire for 1 hour from your battery. This resets the ECU.

After that test drive the car, don't exceed 5.000 rpm. Please do this and come back to the thread.

Thanks,
Eugen

Disconnect your battery for about an hour to reset the ecu and to answer your question about a map loading without power, I believe it will but, it wont finish and restart which I think I read somewhere happened to you

Ok, guys we got it to work.

Heres the steps we took and what others should follow.

First off, we reinstalled the driver for the serial cable. Then we checked what com port it was on(this time was on 9). Then we plugged in the cable to the PROcede. AFTER we connected the cable we started up the PROcede software. Then we set the com port in the software to 9. Then clicked the online/offline. Immediately it was connected with no issues.

Now I redownloaded the V2 map onto my laptop. The first time we were using a little zip drive that had the map loaded on it. It seems that the file was corrupted though and that was giving us a problem. So the map uploaded perfectly 1-100%.

IMPORTANT: For those of you who only see "100% download complete" at the bottom, it is NOT finished. Only when you see "PROcede connected" is it done. This is what another problem might have been last night, unplugging the serial cable too quickly.

Regardless, started the car and it settled to a nice idle rather quickly. No CELs of any kind. After about 5 mins we took it out for a drive. Kept the laptop connected and brought it in the car with me. Everything was running fine and saw boost as high as 14's. Obviously its still adapting and we werent really pushing it that hard but the car felt fantastic.

Thanks to everyone who responded as quickly as they did.
