I have a 2009 335i with a VRSF CP that the PO installed on the car before I purchased it. We got some misfire codes for a few cylinders so we conducted a smoke test and saw that we have a leak at the CP and throttle body connection point. We purchased a new o-ring 13717568031 from BMW (https://www.vr-speed.com/vrsf-charge...5-engines.html) from We still have a leak present. My tech expert says: 1. "the pipe is worn out where it makes contact, lots of oil was present when we took it off, and I cleaned" 2. "with a new o ring I was praying for better fitment but same really take no effort to put on and shouldn't be that easy which leads me to believe it is the clip because it's a spring clip after all and should apply some tension but the design is a bit poor... it doesn't go all the way down and for that reason it cannot apply proper tension. 3. The factory pipe spring clip is a little different, it covers more of the throttle area and has better tension to the throttle motor, but this pipe (VSRF) the clip we are losing a lot of air through this area and I have tio seal it better to move forward What do you recommend to remedy the situation? This thread is 5 years old. We've revised and improved upon the charge-pipe multiple times over the last half decade.
![]() We've sold literally thousands of revised chargepipes since then, all with virgin-tight throttle body flanges ![]() Shoot an e-mail over to support@vr-speed.com along with the picture of the charge pipe and we'll be more than happy to help in any way we can. |
