I'm still amazed they haven't been sued. Never again for me, either.
The worst part is the I told you so's from my buddies who are Honda techs who told me never to buy a BMW because the engineering was shit.

Over a period of 18 months, I had a total of 16 new injectors. Injectors after injectors, it did not fix the problem, SES light keep recurring. My car is at the dealer now for about 1 month. Under BMW instructions, they are coding different values in the ECU for the injectors (or calibration if the proper term is important to you). After each trial, they drive the car for 200 to 300 miles to see if the SES come back. This is a time consuming process, I have been told by my SA that it will take some time before I get my car back. I start to believe that BMW does not really know how to fix my car. In the mean time, it is great that BMW provide me with a free loaner.

Fucking hell. I knew about the CBU issues which didn't worry me too much, but not knowing how to install injectors is worrying me.

I sent them a message.
I am one of the early proponents of such action, so I did my part.

Did thy replace your DDE yet? From reading posts here on this board, many "injector" issues have been resolved with a new DDE. If they haven't or you aren't sure if they have, you should ask them. Might actually get your car back in your driveway sometime soon.

Last update that I got is from June 4, the DDE has not been replaced. I mentioned numerous time the possibility that the DDE is defective but it is not me or the dealer that is calling what need to be replaced, it is BMW NA.

I got the car back today. It looks like they did a bunch of other stuff too. I can't read the BMW lingo, but it seems the valve cover gasket was leaking. How does this happen on a three year old car. I just replaced the valve cover gaskets on my 91 loyale. Attached is the invoice

This is absurd. So they have your car and are racking up miles on it in the process? All the while you are likely driving a loaner car that is not up to your desired specs. Not to mention all the time they have your car is time reduced off the warranty that you are unable to drive it.

I know, this is silly but what are my options? I have over 54k miles and out of original warranty. In GA, I am out of the period and mileage for the Lemon law to be applicable.

sorry to hear about your troubles sky, you might be a good candidate for a dpf delete after they sort out your car.

I did purchase a cpo x5 diesel which is now on its 3rd shop visit lol. They fixed a bunch of interior stuff at first. Then they updated all the software in the car due to CEL. Now they are fixing my shuddering brakes and rattling door panel.. all within the first 4k miles of buying the car... I do drive a lot so its only about 2 months.

AZ has 15 day warranty law when buying used cars from dealers. If there is a mechanical problem in the first 15 days they have two chances to fix it then they have to buy it back from you if you want them to. We will see how this repair goes. I don't want to hardball them yet, as I would like them to properly fix this car, but I also don't want to have to bring it in every week.

I live in California, so it is different, but my dealer offered to extend my warranty to something similar to a CPO 6yr/100k warranty, though it was actually 7 years, 100k, and at the cost of only $500. They said it was a $2000+ warranty, but they would pay most of the cost. I ended up not doing it, but if you really wanted to, you could deliver a persuasive reasoning to offer such a warranty. The peace of mind of a warranty is not something to overlook. I would not drive BMW's outside of factory or CPO warranty. There is still enough risk even under warranty that I can't handle the thought.

I would just lease a new M3 and pretend that the extra cash would've been what I would have spent on repairs anyhow

I already have a 7Y/100K miles Powertrain Plus warranty. Got it before turning to 50K miles. I did not want to own this car without a warranty.

So now they replaced the throttle body and the EGR, but they said on the third test drive the computer won't let the AC compressor turn on. Methinks these cars are pieces of shit. They have no ETA for me. He said they have another one in there right now for DDE replacement.

Are they just throwing parts at it or have the opened a PUMA case with bmw corporate?

Dealers are not versed enough on diesels, insist a PUMA case is opened to get them real expertise.

They've been talking to BMW since I brought it in. I wouldn't think BMW would pay them to replace parts unless a PUMA case had been opened.
