Well that's my silverlining to this whole deal. Starting a new year in about another hour so all of this is a forgone lost memory especially after all the New Year celebratory 'ing. HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!

I PM'ed you traderdad. From my perspective I'm still satisfied with my deal. They had the car I wanted. The sales staff I dealt with were very professional and funny. Overall one of the best new car purchase experiences. I fault myself for not double-checking the calculations when I was with F&I. (Although the amount WAS THE SAME as what they originally quoted me.... somehow the original "deal" paperwork said lease MF 2.1% so I figured that was "my" MF, if that makes sense) At the end of the day I spend more on my dry cleaning a week than the monthly delta between my MF and "perceived" MF. I give Pacific BMW two thumbs up.

Hmm, looks like I got a pretty good deal:

$41,500 MSRP
$0 cap reduction
36mos 12K/year
$489/month + tax = $517/month

Looks like you got the buy rate .00195 MF and weren't stiffed by the dealer with extra padding on finance fees.

It's quite amazing, the same model with no options is only about $40/month less on a lease. Seems like when you lease you can really splurge on options 'cos you only end up paying for about 35% of their cost anyhow.

Excellent point Paddy but with one caveat: FINDING THE CAR! In my case it was a choice between what I have (dealer 5 miles away) and a Black/Black fully loaded at a dealer 25 miles away from me. Difference in payment was around $50/month but I just can't maintain a black car again. In 3 years it'll be time for a new car again!

Life's too short to nickle and dime so lesson learned for me.
After looking at other threads I realized that my MF is in fact what it should have been: .0021. I didn't pay a Security Deposit for my drive offs which meant that I paid that extra .00015 upcharge. Otherwise I would have been at the published buy rate.

If anything I thought I knew leasing but there's so much more to learn provided one has all the details. Thanks everyone! Now back to

MSRP 41095
Selling price 39365

Why didn't you just buy the car? You double your monthly payment but at least you would own the car and when you sold it after 27 months - you would've made more than your 10K you put down back.

Unless you absolutely had to have a $170/month payment - this doesn't make sense to me...

I've been keeping tabs on this thread and thought I'd see what kind of payment a dealer would offer for a 325i/STEP/ZSP/Xenons/Lthrette/PK Dist Cntrl/Blk Sapphre--This is what he came up with. . .seems kinda high. . doesn't it??--I was figuring aroung $430-450/mo--tax is only 3% in VA here:

All of the following payments are based off of a msrp of 35,745 and a selling price of 34,745. All of the payments are also based on 15,000 miles/year at 36 months.
with $0 down = $634.48
with $1500 down= $577.85
with $2500 down= $540.09

Am I off the mark with my payments. . ..0025 Money factor used as well

That does seem high. My dealership is offering $299/month 325i leases, albeit with $5000 down and 10k/24mos (not that that is a great deal).

Yes you are off. $464 with nothing down - before taxes. Get yourself one of the Excel lease calculators on this and other forums. DOn't deal with anyone until you understand 100% of how a lease works and the costs required up front - in this case, $464 first payment, $625 acquisition fee, $500 security. Plus your tax.

I have checked some lease calculators--leasecompare.com and the BMW website.. both are saying $450/mo range w/2500 down. From the previous posts in this thread, that monthly payment amount doesn't seem that out of line. . . Does it have anything to do with the options I want??

OK, 0.00250, 65%, MSRP 35745, Neg Price $34745

Nothing down lease payment is $464 before VA Tax. You will need to put down Sec Dep, Ac fee and first payment.

With $2500 down as a capital cost reduction - i.e. on the negotiated price, the payment is $389. I would recommend however that you put as little down on a lease as you can.

Snag someone's lease calculator. Do not use BMW's or Lease Compare.

You can roll the acquisition fee (no more than $625 - dealers can charge more, Security Deposit (if you're willing to take a .00015 upcharge like I did) and have VERY MINIMAL drive-offs. Only first months payment and TTL (taxes, title, license).

I personally wouldn't recommend any other money towards a cap cost reduction but then that's my personal opinion. Good luck!

Don't forget that there is usually a $350 back end disposition fee that nobody tells you about. Anecdotally, I've heard that it can be waived sometimes if you buy another BMW. I have never been able to negotiate it out at lease at initiation although I guess it is possible. My experience is with several Volvos. BMW may be different.

BMWFS charges everyone the disposition fee, unless you:
1. Buy your own car off lease
2. Buy a new or pre-owned BMW and finance with BMWFS
3. Lease a new or pre-owned BMW through BMWFS

If you buy another BMW and finance/lease with a 3rd party, they'll charge you the fee. Also, they will definately charge you the fee if you don't get another BMW... there is no way out of this.

Another interesting observation is that they give you a break if you have multiple accounts. For example, if you have two BMWs on lease with BMWFS, and you replace one of them at lease end with a non-BMW, they will waive the fee so long as your other BMWFS account is still active.
