Looks like there's some serious competition going on,you're certainly the raciest forum member that's for sure.
Top job, glad you're pleased with it.

no-one can outperform Carlos, you only have to read his posts

Mmm the way he's carrying on,he's gonna get left behind in everyone's dust!

Get ready for a barrage of questions from the Fandango Helen,he'll want to know everything from 0-60 times, increase in BHP and Torque Etc.
Disregard the ones about waist and bust measurements though.
Thank you Ian, you always say the nicest things

I'm very particular who I have close to my chest....well my whole body really

Don't worry, I'm more than ready to take on Carlos. I'll blow him out for you Ian.....wouldn't take long I imagine

Helen, you little tinker.

Having a bit of an enhancement this afternoon at home, good on ya gal. I hope you enjoy your car more now. Is it a plug in jobby that you can take out when the car goes in for a service? or take onto your next car if you swap for another 335d.

Shame the weather is so poor at the mo to give it a good run out.

I wonder why that is then? Surely the principles to remapping are the same whether they're diesels or petrols? Up the boost, increase the fuel injectors or pressure of the common-rail etc etc... Strangely, even though I'm a die-hard petrolhead and not a diesel fan, I have wondered whether I did the right thing in buying the i instead of the d. I've driven a remapped 335d since I bought my car, and have to say that overall with a remap, it is probably the best real-world car available today...

However, I'm in a similar position in that I don't know what to get after my 335i. Have money down on an Alpina B3 convertible for end of 2008, but that's a bit of a sideways step. I like the idea of going back to a convertible though - there are times when I really miss my old E46.

Or I could forget the Alpina, wait one more year (so 2 and a half years from now, as opposed to 18 months) and at that point get a Smart car for running around in, and a AMV8 or 997 for proper driving?? The 997 is a better car, but the AMV8 makes my blood pressure jump...

Actually, I normally measure by feel. Although in this particular case, I'll accept imperial measurements.

Id never get an Aston, apart from the noise, they just dont do it for me. Ive wanted a 911 for years, and the 997 is just the best of the bunch. Going to have another baby in a couple of years, and 3 kids and wife do not go into a 911, so it would have to be a toy for me, at weekends etc

Helen,I'm assuming it took Simon longer then normal too carry out the remap due to a constant and ever present distraction, could you let me know how long the actual remap took.
I ask as Simon is due to do mine and Carlos' next week, and bearing in mind Simon will be fully focused on our car's and not distracted,it will be a useful guide.

By the way I only understand Imperial

Not sure where it is but a free bar was mentioned. I guess it would be a good excuse to say why you were in the lapdancewah bar!

Hi Gibbo, much prefer an enhancement to the car rather than myself. Are you saying I require an enhancement then?

Not a plug in jobby. My ECU is the EDC 16 apparently. The 2.0d engines have the EDC17 ECU's that according to Simon are no longer supplied by Bosch & cannot be re-mapped by him as the area he plugs into has been blocked off. He is assuming that eventually all the diesels will have the new EDC17's fitted - so no re-maps in the future unless BMW or a division thereof carry out the enhancement?

well... two in the back, one in the nose cone, and the wife hanging on for dear life in the passenger seat.. what do you mean your family won't fit?!

the thing about the Aston is the noise, and the fact it's an Aston. Ever since I was little I've always wanted a DB5, then when I discovered the DB4 I wanted that even more. The DB7 never did it for me, but eventually I borrowed an AMV8 for the weekend and that was fabulous. Not the greatest car to drive, granted - a Carrera S would run rings round it, backwards - but for the sheer experience... and the noise..!!

Yes, here's the ensuing conversation with Nat..

Sweetie, I'm just popping out.. going to trawl through a few bars because I need to find Carlos. Did you ask where? Well, since I'm always honest and open with you, I'll start at Stringfellows, and if he's not there, I'll go to Spearmints and Sophisticats.. I'm sure I'll find him eventually. Don't wait up for me....
