It's a tiny volume increase when you compare it to how much air is flowing through the system. Just because people "notice" something doesn't mean they aren't just making shit up based on erroneous ideas they believe.

Nope, I don't feel any noticeable increase of lag from stock FMIC to 7" FMIC upgrade.

Just installed Cobb AP on my 09 E92 335xi....whats the best map to run for stock car? I believe I have Aggressive Linear Throttle. Would Stock Throttle give better response? Also what is next best move for power? Intake, K&N filter, Pro Tune, FMIC???? Thanks!

Add an intake/K&N if you want along with it. Changing out the stock airbox is not completely necessary, but might offer a marginal benefit. |

could be a number of things. u could try to throw a little e85. it cleans up timing if its due to crappy gas.

I have a 7" VRSF FMIC (and aFe open air intake) and a COBB. Was satisfied with that but decided to get a pro tune (e-tune) from Pro Tuning Freaks. Nishan made the tune after my specifications which were basically:
* Wanted powerwise about 380-390 BHP, don't want to push the limits too much, not looking for maximum power. I'm concerned about the best possible "safety" and good engine management. * Wanted a linear throttle feeling but not as stretched out as the COBB OTS maps with linear throtte. To sum it up, I almost regret not getting a pro tune earlier. I was positively surprised at the end result even though I already had expectations of it being very good. |

Please get a datalog. If it was just a single 3.5 degree correction then it is perfectly fine. If it is across the board that becomes a different story.

Haven't dyno'd it but my setup is supposed to increase BHP by 30% to around 390. DP's will supposedly take you up to around 410-420, which to me is a marginal gain. So, really no need for DPs unless you just want to get max HP, intend to track your car and aren't worried about passing a smog test. With the additional HP you can get with just an FMIC and Cobb AP3, the additional money spent would be better spent on improving the handling w/new shocks, springs, sway bars and/or tires than buying DPs. I already have the Sport Suspension, so I just added Koni FSDs and Michelin PPS tires and the car handles the additional speed like a slot car. Still get a little sway but not enough to make me want to add stiffer springs and/or sways yet.

ok today I will get a drop in filter just to waste money...haha
Next up will be either FMIC or Charge pipe as my car is an 09 and could be leaking boost.....this will allow me to change maps on my Cobb AP By the way Stock Throttle on Cobb Stage 1 aggressive is much better than Linear Throttle!!!!
