Agreed...from the outside. Reviews I've read so far say it's too muted inside for an M car.

M4 Test drive

Had a very pleasant 30 minutes in a well warmed up M4 today.

Impressions:

From outside that exhaust sound literally made every petrol head turn and grin. It sounds awesome.

Inside it sounds a little more subdued until you floor it, then its loud.....raucous even. Definitely does sound better from outside though...more of an edge.

Handling is awesome.....beautifully taught ride, very little body roll but not an ounce of harshness....just lovely, tight, precise, smooth, beautifully balanced.

Steering felt really great, especially on sport plus when its very nicely weighted. Not enough time to really try the different settings

Gearbox was fast...didn't notice any downshift throttle blips

Big difference between comfort and sport modes...you can feel substantial changes to suspension and steering and especially throttle mapping

Seat are really comfortable and the interior feels special, like an M car should.

All in all I loved it...the black M4 probably wasn't the best colour but the mineral white M3 was just the ticket.

M4 is pretty mint! I didn't thrash it to much due to the fear of ditching it The growl of the exhaust is pretty epic, especially for someone coming from a diesel history! Not 100% certain on the look of the 4 coupe through, something about it just doesn't sit right. However, I did see a 435i Convertible just now on the motorway and that is

Yeah I thought so. Although Steve said he drove a black M4? Might not have been at Sytner though.

Coopers in Teesside

Same colours reversed....M3 in Mineral White (looked gorgeous) and M4 in Black (not so much).

Lovely looking car.

Front Grilles are hideous with all that chrome, I think their will be a demand for performance grilles.
