Sadly no my car production date is 11/06 , but I get get too upset since the car has been pretty much problem free since I owned it. When it comes transmission upgrade time then I'll definitely will take advantage of this flash.

Is anybody having any little quirks with the flash? Today I was cruising in S6, and the tranny randomly downshifted to 5th and then back up to 6th within a second or two. This happened a few times.

I was at a constant speed on the freeway (flat land). I saw no reason for the car to downshift.

Very nice ... did the flash today, and I was able to do it without any previous coding knowledge ... DIY works like it said it would all for the cost of a $40 cable I found on ebay

Thanks for the info .. car is a blast.

Can anyone who is about to flash post some information from INPA prior to flashing?
I am trying to determine a 'changelog' as it were for the stock transmission softwares, and hopefully find some other hidden goodies.

I need the following:

Original 'ZB No.' and 'Date' for EGS and DME/DDE modules from 'User Information Field' menu in Functional Jobs
Original 'Part No.' and 'SGBD' for EGS and DME/DDE modules from 'Identification' menu in Functional Jobs

Also...

If anyone pre 03/07 has INPA, can you get me the original 'Part No.' and 'SGBD' for the EGS module?

I am trying to get a better grasp of how the flash actually works, right now it looks like the main gearbox software file is the same for the Alpina cars and the stock E9x-N54 cars, and the only difference is the 'data status' file. There are many compatible data status files in the spdaten folder, and 5 of them are specific to E9X-N54, spread over several date ranges.

I can only assume the pre march cars use a different main gearbox software, and as such the data status file does not match

I'm not sure what was going on. That day, I also went from S6 to M6 and the RPM shot up (like downshifting to 5th) and then settled down right away. That shouldn't have happened.

I took my car out yesterday (cruising in S6 again to see if it downshifted to S5 on its own) and everything was normal. The car didn't downshift randomly and going from S6 to M6 didn't make the RPM jump.

I guess something was just going on with my car the other day. No big deal...

yeah you need to get your ZB number from inpa for the EGS module than with winkfp you can see if you have the alpina file available.
So basically you need to know how to do the whole thing.

Hi , I did some research about software mod to my AT , and the info I got regarding my pre 3/2007 AT was that the memory module is smaller on the pre 3/2007 , I was told it had 500 kb size memory and the later have 1mb size memory.

That was what I was TOLD

Does the Alpina flash only work on the 6HP21?

Can it work on the 6HP19 that come in the 325's and 330's?

probably not. only works for a car based on N54 (works on N55 too though) engine which is the one alpina is using.

yeah or just flash it and see if it works. if the trans is dead afterwards you can just reflash your stock one so write down the ZB number .

Not always. You want to make sure that whatever software you're flashing in is suitable for that specific ECU.

For any pre-03/07 owners, if you are willing to experiment (and possibly brick the TCU) I have some modified files here that will potentially allow the software to be forced onto your car

As is, no warranty!

I will need your original ZB number and the assembly number (should be 7573661 i believe) to verify I have modified the file to your car
