Any chancer they''ll come out with a trunk or add-on that is not quite so aggressive? It appears that there are a number of us who are still waiting for the perfect rear spoiler to come along:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150136

Reading all of the posts on this and the threads about the current Vorsteiner trunk, I would say you are getting mixed reviews on this bootlid. I thought I was going to do this on my upcoming car but I've decided it's just a bit much. I love the look of the molded Hartge in the thread above (leaving the roundel, tho).

Whadyasay? How about an E92 Vorsteiner CSL Bootlid II ???

You can contact Vorsteiner directly with your feedback but imo while that trunk looks nice it doesn't come close to the look of the Vorsteiner! These CSL trunks sell extremely well and Vorsteiner can't make em fast enough to fill all the orders they recieve!! So I doubt you'll see a less aggressive version anytime soon...

Thanks for the quick response, Craig. I know you're right about the rate of sales. But I think you've read enough of these threads to see there's a bunch of people who feel like I do and they're settling for the M3 spoiler or none at all right now. Of course, BMW pretty much blew it with their aero thing.

There's still a big market out there for the right rear spoiler. I know I've been looking for over a year. I do like the Vorsteiner trunk but I feel like I'd have to do the Mtech rear bumper to keep it in proportion like so many others have done. That starts to get a bit complicated for some people.

Hey, just a $0.02 thought.

Agreed it's certainly nice to have a variety of options. Have you considered getting the decklid spoiler and having it molded to your existing trunk?? It's a lil less agressive and might get you the look your trying to achieve!!!

Actually, I was going to ask you whether it was my imagination or not but it seems that the decklid spoiler is a little flatter in the middle and has a little more curvature above the roundel than the full trunk. I was also wondering whether the PUR version could be modified to my taste. Can a body shop work with PUR by sanding and remolding with reasonably reliable/long-lasting results?

It's not your imagination its definately a lil different and i believe they should be able to mold it on there without issue!!!

Thanks again, Craig. I spent the rest of the evening searching for and downloading pics of Vorsteiner decklid spoilers. And you know what, they are quite a bit different! The spoiler is much closer to what I am interested in.

So, if I wanted to mold this puppy, which would be best- the PUR or CF version? I noticed on some of the threads that there was a fitment issue with the PUR version. Has that been corrected? Some seemed much better than others like there was a batch difference or something.

I've never worked with CF parts. How much sanding/remodeling can be done when molding on CF parts?

(Note: I plan to paint the whole thing to match the car.)

The PUR will probably be easier to work with and since you intention is to have it molded i see zero issues with fitment as some have encountered while installing with just 3M tape. Go for it man i'm sure you'll be happy with the end result!! I'll drop you a PM with the PUR version pricing...
