+1 - I might be willing to go with the Jet Black at $110 painted but where is the decision made to paint a batch at 5 - 9 lips as opposed to waiting for 20?

Slightly off topic, but is there a BMW bra that they make that fits cars with an aero lip?

Hahah I really don't. But I drive down to Los Angeles like 3 times a year and thought maybe they would protect my car better.

must say that i'm extremely pleased with the paint job. it matched beautifully. thanks for the great service and product!

finally, i need a little affirmation. after installing it using 3m molding tape, it still seems to have a little gap between the lip and bumper. i'm afraid that water will go in when it rains. is there anything to prevent/help this?

thanks advance!

Thanks for your purchase and support, glad to hear that you're pleased with the work!

You may have that gap when using the 3M tape to secure it to the bumper. It's probably gapped due to the width of the tape sandwiched between the bumper and the lip. That's why BMW recommends the use of the Betalink adhesive for a flush fit. However, we do realize that some of you guys may be on a lease and don't want to "permanently" affix the lip to your paint.

I just got my painted AW lip delivered yesterday and everything looks great. One thing though, i ordered it w/ adhesive and it came with the glue but no 3m tape. I thought that it would come with the 3m tape too. I guess i have to get that myself right?

Yes, BMW says to use the Betalink adhesive. The guys that are using the 3M tape are most likely sourcing it themselves.

I have a bra on my bumper, is it ok to install the aero lip ontop of the bra? and whats the Adhesive kit recommended by BMW? what do you mean by Adhesive kit? and last thing, does it mean if I pay now for sapphire black metallic i have to wait until 20 people want sapphire black metallic then ill get mine?

The paint charges for minimum quantities of a single color are:
1 - 4 aero lips = 160.00 each
5 - 9 aero lips = 110.00 each
10 - 19 aero lips = 100.00 each
20+ aero lips = 90.00 each

Once there are 5 people, the price drops down a lot. After that, there is no sense in waiting for 20 people. I am waiting to buy one of these in black sapphire also.

Thanks for clearing things up, and yeah I agree with you, its not worth waiting after it reaches 5 people.
But the question that I need an answer for before I can buy one, I have a bra on my bumper, will i still be able to install the aero lip on the bra without needing to remove it?

I'm not too sure about installing it overtop of the clear bra...but I would think that it should adhere. Of course, I can't say for sure because the required betalink adhesive is meant to bond to the paint. However, if I had to venture a guess, I'd say that it should be OK - but I can't guarantee it.
