Awesome man, I appreciate the offer! I'll definitely take a peak at ebay and see what I can find. I dropped the car off today at around 10, I'll be picking it up tomorrow at the same time. My buddy Ken is wizard

Cleaned the wheels. Mothers Aluminum Wheel Cleaner (red spray bottle) really cuts through the brake dust. Very impressed.

I've heard $800 for the labor, which isn't too bad, considering how much work it is. I also can't fault people for taking it to a shop, especially for something like this. It's hard and takes awhile. I was lucky enough to have a backup truck to drive while my car was dead. I tried to find a local shop, but nobody wanted to touch a BMW diesel. I'm just glad it's over now.

Yea, 800 isn't bad at all.

Awesome!

I take it you were just able to keep the gear in place and pull the pump?!

Any insight/tips you can provide is greatly appreciated.

335Dsleeper,

When I built my motor, I bought the whole timing tool kit.

But for the pump replacement, this is the only tools needed to keep the gear and chain in place while doing the job. Its really not a complicated job.

Installed some M3 rear control arms and also new toe arms along with a diff brace that the bolt broke off lol. Thanks again to JOHNNYBRAVO1 for letting me use his arsenal of tools. Car feels much more stable in the rear than before. The OEM guide rods flex under load, and with the added torque, it should be a necessary mod for those who are tuned.

There are poly belly pan replacements? I hate this stupid fiber thing that basically absorbs everything that touches it, lol.

ebay or Amazon around $100 shipped. Keep in mind you get what you pay for, this not the thick poly typically associated with OE construction. Took a 2600 mile road trip to Vegas including a run to 160 with a Shelby Cobra and it is still there with no flapping and has not melted. So good enough. It will be nice to eliminate getting my face, stomach, etc. smeared with grease next time I crawl under my d. Another benefit will be to identify small leaks or boost hose seepage more effectively.

Thanks! They are four fronts. Slight rubbing if the car has four adults and we hit a large whoop on the freeway or something, but we rarely have this problem, so it's not an issue. If I remember correctly, they are 235/35/19 Michelin as3's.
the car likes the lighter wheels!

I have 225 PSS in the rear. It grips well enough.

What is oem? 245's? 255's? Nominal difference for a car that doesn't get throttled too hard.

Depends on if you have the base model or sport/m-sport. Base is 225, Sport and M-sport are 255.
