It does not have to be street racing. I enjoy watching race videos and the good ones are usually street race's, but I am not a fan of actually doing it myself. There are always race tracks that this can be done at. It is the winter season so I guess it may take a few months. I just thought that at least ONE video would have been posted of a tuned car in action.

I hope thats not the case ! They have n54 535i tunes available with this initial release, so I hope they would do the same when the n55 AP is available. I'd like to hear from Cobb how far off n55 support truthfully is ??? Are we talking 6 months ?, or is it more like a year plus ?? It would be nice to get an ETA...

questions can be answered by feature lists, capabilities, limitations, dynos, time slips and the like. street racing videos? not so much. |

Basically, if I recall correctly, he mentioned that they don't want to say X months for a certain product to be ready, and then have to short change the product's capabilities in order to hit that date. But ballpark figures are always nice, I have to agree. ![]()

It´s an estimate and they can´t hold me responsible for it, they just want an idea before even considering ideas. Later on, when all the data is on the table, there will be adjustments, and everyone understands that. It might be the same for some people on here. If Cobb say they probably won´t support plattform X or Y in the coming 5 years (yeah, grossly exagerated I Know) then at least I would know. The same questions was raised for Subaru when Cobb started supporting the USDM crowd, that might be why I´m pretty persistent on this question. |

Cobb - How does the flash tune react to putting in race gas? Would it affect hp or boost pressure at all if the flash detects 100 octane gas vs. 93 if you are using the 93 stage 1 OTS map?

I'm curious about something. The Procede has a neat feature which limits boost while the engine is cold. This is especially valid for ridiculous locations like Canada where "cold" means -20 centigrade.
How does the COBB tune deal with this, if at all?

Pure speculation: I think for the 135/335 N55 owners, your probably looking at a 3-6 month wait time. It's the 535/X5's that are going to have the extended wait time. Probably 6-9 months, but if anyone with a 535/X5 can get to a COBB tuning facility and provide them a copy of their ECU's image/rom, it would definately decrease that timeframe. I believe the issue with the 535/X5's is the fact that we are using 8 speed tranny's vs everyone else's 6/7 speeds. At any rate I look forward to the end product and wish Cobb the best of luck... Now someone with a 535/X5 near COBB's tuning facilities needs to get off their lazy butt and do what's necessary...
