now my dad just called me and told me his best friend is getting by pass surgery. This sucks. Ive known this guy since I was 2 years old. he always comes to my house for birthdays and other parties. he was at my house for memorial day with my parents.

im not going to try to sound like a big tough guy here. and im not really sure what your pain tollerance is so dont think Im trying to show off. when i sprained my knee i was still able to do seated excercises like back, shoulders and chest and bi's and tric's. as long as you use the machines for higher reps and dont push yourself you can still do those and by using the machines you wont have to pick up weights. Just food for though.

I lifted religiously when i was a junior in college, was about 185lbs max but mostly stopped and just lifted on and off after.
I heard stuff about "muscle memory" about how your muscles will grow back after to what they were at their peak before if you stop then re-start again. Is this true?

but dont hold me on that. every persons body is different in how they develop and how their muscles react to a long periods of not lifting.

I've started lifting/working out recently...DAMN it feels good. There is also this supplement called 2:1:1 Recovery, whey protein I believe...tastes amazing.
