I tried stage 2+ aggressive v400 when it first came out. Definetly felt smoother but also was slower than v301 according to my 1/4 times using the ap. Switched back to v301 and haven't bothered trying v401.

First i will thank to Cobb and Cobb/Ian for great and fast support for every thing that has appeared.

I just say i ran about 6 months a different remap giving 360 hp 480nm
on my automatic ok,not single error. After Stage2+FMIC Sport map,the
HPFP just died within first time of full throttle acceleration.

This week HPFP was replaced and so far so good i understand that of course with the change from about 360 to about 420hp? crank and 480nm to over 500nm? takes more from fuel pump and thats maybe the reason it died.

Sorry if this is a noob question and I have tried searching the topic as well but maybe someone can help me with this.

I have a 2008 335i, n54 motor gulf spec (from Qatar). Installed the COBB AP last night and set it on Stg1 Aggressive I8A0S (Linear Throttle) map and took it out for a test drive. I should add the car is completely stock. Started off giving it about 40% throttle and increased as the car warmed up but as I got into higher revs the car started to shudder and as i gave it less throttle it would get smoother. Gave it more throttle again and the shudder would return and got worse to the point where I pulled over to the shoulder to change to the stock like Stage 0 map. The car was shaky during idle as well. I have to say this scared the crap out of me because I thought I had messed something up.

The car threw a code but for the life of me I cant remember what it is now (something valve [lambda probe] something) so that might not help. I have since had the car in Stg1 Drive map and it is running much smoother but when i give it more than 70% throttle it shudders slightly so haven't been pushing it much. I will try driving it in the Stg1 Sport/Aggressive maps again later today to see what codes it throws. If anyone can tell me what the problem might be and how I can resolve this issue it would help greatly. Thanks!

Power has nothing to do with the hpfp failing. They just fail and you car has many miles on it.

relief to hear, thanks.yes i agree 100% just my faith was "little" under pressure...
because water pump failed few weeks ago...and so soon the hpfp...but hey...those are parts that are allways on,when you drive so no wonder those
wont last for ever

few comments about 401 Stage2+FMIC Sport map. first i was like hey! LT is better, but now using ST...well i like it somehow better...maybe my mind will change like woman´s...every other week/day heh. still think consumption is easier to keep lower when using ST.

will test more accelerations with the new hpfp soon.todays test was like
normal accelerations using power stage1 level...very smooth!

So just an update on this post. Set to Stg1 Sport map and at idle there was a code P2C9D thrown and took it out, let it warm up and tried to go to redline in 3rd but the car stuttered harddd and misfired. Codes read P29D1, P29CF, P29DO, P29CC and P30FF. Misfires in cylinders 3,4, and 5. Turned the car off, changed to Stg0 Stock map and did a couple of WOT runs and there was no stuttering, nothing. What can the issue be? Do you guys think its a Coils/Plugs issue or something else? I don't think HPFP is an issue as it is a gulf spec car and running 97 octane here all the time. Also, how do i get the car to throw these codes with the AP uninstalled so that dealer can replace parts?

I don't believe running 97 octane gas will have any effect on the health of your HPFP.

It will probably only misfire when running higher boost so you probably can't induce it stock.

And hpfp just fails no matter what octane.

Replace your plugs! You should do this anyway if you have not done it within the last 15,000 miles or so. if the problem persists, chase down the code and find out what cylinder, then replace the coil pack for that cylinder.

I have been through this and it was the plugs for me. Added benefit: gas mileage jumped by about 3 MPG.

Okay thanks for all the comments guys! I'll try replacing the plugs and see if that fixes it.

Mine ended up being a bad injector. Just saying, plugs are worth it, but not always 100% guaranteed to fix the misfires

I had the same issue off of Cyc 1 on my 335i 2008 E90. I had my coil & spark plug replaced and reloaded stage 1+FMIC v 401 & working just fine for the last couple of weeks.

Sorry if this has already been covered. But what would be the point of resetting your ecu? I just plugged in ap to clear codes and saw that option.

honesty your timing looks weird as well... v301 these cars advanced past 7-8 degrees of timing on the logs i took now it seems theyre stuck around 4-5? at least i know its not just my car doing funny things
+1 for odd but I get upto 7.88 degrees advance across all cylinders.

Timing correction in log for cylinder appears out of step for actual cylinder timings.

(e.g. If 6 is slightly out compare to other cylinders, and 5 is the only cylinder correcting, direction explains the difference)

I think 1 = 1; 2 = 3; 3 = 5 and 5 = 6

(correction vs actual cylinder)

Follow that?

Emailed cobb about odd pulled timing for a few weeks but they're not responding yet.

Just pulled a code P29F3, fuel pressure sensor electrical, could this be related to the odd timing?
