As long as you don't see fuel mode 6 you're ok it looks like.

Hey man, can you shed some light on the fuel mode variable that we can log and the meaning of its different values?

Fuel Mode 2 - normal operation
Fuel Mode 20 - spool mode
Fuel Mode 10 - warm-up mode on cold start (to heat the cats)
Fuel Mode 6 - excessive perceived EGTs, will attempt to cool cats down.

Im currently running the COBB stage 1+FMIC with stock throttle. What would be the difference between running the stock throttle or linear throttle? Not sure which would be better to use, or is that all personal preference? I havent had the chance to try the linear throttle yet, but was hoping for some opinions on which may be the better option....

Linear throttle is designed more for MT, but it is still personal preference. I have 6MT and like using the stock throttle map around town for giggles but prefer Linear for the track as it is easier to modulate. They both give the same amount of boost but at different throttle positions.

Stock throttle is more volcano power delivery does not depends on the pushing the pedal hard to the floor , and linear is the more you push the pedal to the floor the more power you get!!!

+1
I have AT and i like more stock throttle map on everyday use...if i would go to track, then linear map.better mpg with std when driving slow,LT accelerates so easily = of course more fuel.

I was going back and forth between ST and LT... just switched back to LT last night and actually prefer it. Better mpg also since I usually drive slow lol

I've been wanting to pretty much max out my car going the cobb route, but I've also been looking at the single turbo progress going on. I have a 335xi and want to at least be as fast (in a straight line) as a stock 996TT on 91 octane, at least from 0-60. I'd not be so bothered by not being able to beat a 996TT at higher speeds. That's usually well into the danger zone of the kinds of speeds I'd like to do.

I'm moving to mountain view in a couple of months, so it's a constant debate whether to do DP's, CP, FMIC, DCI, + Cobb Accessport, or wait for what the single turbo has to offer (since I'd be living in the area). I know that the Cobb tunes are absolutely fantastic, and are at the top of my list of anything that isn't single turbo, but the single turbo is also a bit of a wild card.

Help! Not sure what decision to make! I realize there might be some bias in the Cobb thread, but I'm alright with that

I'm having trouble reading the numbers given in the cylinder temp variable (1.0, 1.3...).

Can we can get ANY kind of update on the Methanol maps or the route Cobb plans to take with Meth support? (will HFS-4 be necessary or will the off the shelf Cobb maps be able to work with a variety of meth pumps/setups..?)

Cobb runs a HFS-3/4 during their testing, but I've run a basic meth kit, no problem. Meth kits are meth kits, they all do the same thing in the end.

Thanks for the reply and help as always themyst...

I have been wanting to integrate Meth with my 335 for a couple months now..BUT have been really hesitant...I really dont want to go all out and piece together a nice kit or buy the BMS kit...THEN have Cobb make a "big" announcement that Race/Meth maps will be released the next week (maybe only supporting the HFS-3/4 or something who knows)..

Im sure they are all very similar but I dont want to be out of support if I take the plunge now...or even have Cobb make more power (?) out of their kit later on and feel dumb..

If someone from Cobb can chime it that would be nice...Thanks in advance..

Cobb should just make their own kit supported by the AP... they'd sell like hotcakes

Do you know for a fact that they are releasing these? I remember you mentioning something about DPs with HFCs.
