I was reminded why going to the dealership for parts is a bad idea, their prices are ridiculous and the employees are clearly just out of training. I resisted the temptation and will place an online order instead.

Installed the Bilstein B12 kit (Bilstein shocks and struts with Eibach springs) and the front M3 control arms kit.

After the suspension work, we performed a drain and fill of the transmission fluid with a new ZF pan / filter and the ZF Lifeguard fluid.

Stoked to have finally gotten these done. Huge shout out to Brendan (aka SilverStreak18).

1. Fixed my girlfriend's car's headlights!

2. Replaced my belt, idler pulleys, and tensioner. Hardest part was getting the fan out - the lower charge pipe has a grommet clip thing that fits on a rubber bushing on the fan, and the fan wouldn't clear the pipe. I ended up jacking the car and removing the pipe entirely, but after that it was smooth sailing.

I got about 87k out of the OE parts, and they just started squeaking today. The belt looked to be in great condition, but the tensioner pulleys were definitely worn out. The OFHG leak from earlier in the year also caused failure in the bearings of the upper idler pulley, so I'd say overall it was ready for an overhaul.

This March: snag myself a metal power steering pump pulley from Hamburg-Tech once it's in production.

Finally got around to doing a few upgrades/mods. Today I did the charcoal delete while swapping an AFE drop-in filter and swapping in the Rev Motor silicon intake boot. I also downloaded my stock DME file to send to Bob over at BPC so I can get the car dialed in after two weeks of rolling with headers.

Finished my valve cover gasket replacement service. That valve cover is a PITA to take on and off but I managed and now I'm super happy I got this done, praying for no more oil leaks!

Washed, waxed it and cleaned the interior which really needed it badly.

Painted the kidney grills matte black. They are just sitting on there right now. It was cold today, so I brought them in the house to dry more. I like it way better than the chrome, but I might color match them later. I like the gloss black look. Just not willing to spend that much on new ones when I am pretty good with a rattle can.

Are you planning to add clear coat for gloss look in the future? I'm just asking because I'm planning to do same, but still deciding gloss vs matte (plus I don't have time right now to do it lol)

Punched my light in the dick because I replaced the ballast and it worked for a day then stopped.

First time taking off fender liners and bumpers this weekend so i learned a little bit and not a total loss. I've only had my e91 for 2 months

I've just been doing some maint. to the ol' girl, since I have still had the car less than a month.

This last weekend. Did Oil change and Brake Fluid Flush.

Just ordered some new plugs, the plug socket and microfilter from ECS.

The previous owner had replaced 3 of 4 runflats not that long ago, so the one that wasn't replaced is looking low on tread.

So I am also shopping for the best price on a Potenza RFT replacement (will likely replace all of the tires with non-RF when the others wear down).

Once all basic maint is done. I can finally start buying upgrades

More than likely I will. I like the look now, but the gloss black ones I've seen are calling to me.

How does that Pennzoil Euro 5W-40 stack up against OEM 5W-30 BMW oil? I'm getting tired of paying $60-70 for 7 quarts of oil.... lol

If you believe the marketing materials, it's better. And if you subscribe on amazon to the Pennzoil Platinum Pure Plus Euro 5W-40, you will pay almost $7.50 per quart. It's tough to find. Of course, use the oil selector below based on your model.

BMW is now in partnership with Pennzoil instead of Castrol, so attached is the link to the selector.

http://www.pennzoil.com/en_us/oil-se...VTL2Jyb3dzZQ==

and here is a link to questions re Pennzoil Platinum Euro Pure Plus
