Thanks @rohitsja. So they actually got back to me and the end date would be 1/31/2017 for this. Id be going with the gold option for $3720 (No Nav)... So essentially I be paying close to 4K for 3 years of coverage.

In you're honest option... Do you think this option is definitely the right choice for the cars protection and coverage? Meaning have you benefited with the option you choose for your car?

Im probably gonna go with what you recommend.

I haven't had the chance of using my warranty as of now, but from what all the things that could possibly go wrong ( add to that the fact that I am a 1st time BMW owner and trying to learn as I go) I decided to take the risk and pay for the warranty assuming this is what I would pay for manitenance anyway. (I sleep with full confidence that if anything goes wrong - my ass is fully covered til 2016 atleast)

So when I go for a roll, I don't care if it takes a toll. lol !!!!

Ya I hear you... Im leaning towards doing this for the main fact that its better to have protection then have nothing at all.

Thanks.

No @fazman, they were from Carmen Donato at Vista BMW in S. Florida... Im don't think a quote from an Maryland BMW would work if Im located in Florida. Doesn't each state have specific quotes margins that they have to go from and stay within?

I'm located in NJ, I got my extension from Jeff Steel @ Passport BMW in MD. Now... your case may be unique... i have no idea... but it might be worth the moment to drop him an email or give him a call. Whats the worse that can happen??? Your theory is right and he says he can't help you... a little wasted time. OR you can experiment beyond what you assume... and you can save hundreds or thousands on this one transaction alone?

I'd drop him an email/call, it would be worth your time (it was for me). Just remember, it's not the dealership who is giving you a warranty... it's BMW North America which is giving you a warranty... the paper work is submitted thru it's nationwide dealership network (they all use the same computers and connect to the same systems). Just like i can buy a car in any state I like from a BMW dealership and drive it home.

Extended Warranty and Maintenance 328d Xdrive Wagon

Well I just bought my first BMW. A 328d Xdrive MSport Wagon and now the question is whether to buy extended warranty and maintenance. I have searched this thread and see there are a number of opinions but am not sure they apply to me. A few facts I tend to keep my cars along time. (My last car a Volvo XC 90 is 10 years old with 150,000 miles). I am being offered an 84mths/75,000 Platinum plan for $2995 and an extended maintenance package for $2195. I do not have that much to compare this with and wondering if this is likely to make sense in the long run. I do not tend to insure things I can afford to fix but I am mildly concerned at how much repairs will cost over 7yrs since I have never owned a BMW.
thx

Well if you want to look back a page you can see the convo Ive been having with the other guys. In terms of extending on a new car, if you want to hold off a few years and stick with the standard warranty, which covers basically everything, that might be the best option... I would do that.
My 5 year 50K warranty is about to expire and these are the options I was given for extended warranty - Below. Its pretty close to what you were offered, for just slightly more. So if you're not trying to spend more money after just buying your new car, that could be an option for you.

- Im located in S. Florida incase that affects pricing.
- 84/100,000 = 4130.00 PLUS TAX, PLATINUM
- 84/100,000 = 3720.00 PLUS TAX, GOLD
- 84/70,000 = 3730.00 PLUS TAX, PLATINUM
- 84/70,000 = 3370.00 PLUS TAX, GOLD

MrAwesome is correct. I purchased a fidelity warranty, not a BMW ESC. Because of my unique situation (only 28k miles and still under initial factory warranty), I was able to get a unique deal...which added 72m/72k, thus taking me up to a total of 10yrs/100k. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the information. I think I am going to hold off at least a couple years to see how the car ages. If things get sketchy repair wise in the next 24-48 mths I 'll extend at that point. While it may be relatively more expensive at least the money is in my bank account and not theirs for the 4 years I am warranty covered.

Update: went to my buddies ford dealership and he hooked me up with a 4yr/50k for $2000 platinum plus my 335i is out of warranty as well.

BMW dealership just quoted me this

Comprehensive: yr/mileage

60/65,000 $6800
36/36,000 $4500

Powertrain: Yr/Mileage

60/65,000 $3500
36/36,000 $2700
24/24,000 $2400

My care is an 08 35kmiles one owner, babied it, all dealer service done, HPFP done, it seems powertrain would be the way to go since everything else is pretty solid, Although with these low miles im not sure if i will need it, i'm pretty handy i can replace most stuff myself. The turbos and HPFP are under warranty and are the major things that go, I plan to keep this car 2 years or until i reach 55k miles and buy an M3. Thoughts on warranty purchase?

Have the Easycare warranty myself and the car's at the dealer now. $3300 in repairs (water pump, thermostat, leaking valve cover, 2 leaking struts). Everything verified, everything covered, $100 deductible. No fuss.

Definitely picking up another 2 years when the warranty runs it's course at the end of the year.

Just bought our first 2011 335d last week that has only 22,000 miles on it but the 4/50 standard warranty runs out for us this October based on the time. So, we added the 7/70 BMW ESC Platinum And purchased ours through Jeff at Passport BMW as many others have and for good reason. Anyone truly looking for a great price should send him an email and get their offer quoted in any plan that BMW offers to fit their needs. His email is jeff.steel@passportauto.com and I am in no way affiliated.

I've emailed him from two different accounts this week, didn't hear anything back though. Any special secret code word to get a hold of him? Have a 2011 X5 and would like to get pricing on some options... or did it just take several days to hear back from him?

Another WIN for Jeff at jeff.steel@passportauto.com.

I emailed him on 3/5, he replied later in the afternoon requesting more info. I sent it back to him later that night.... first thing in the morning on 3/6 he had a quote in my inbox. Replied back, and have my purchase underway at this moment.
