Are people regularly using their AC and then all of the sudden your balancer will die? I'm at 89K on the original and as much as I can stand it just leave the AC off (I average 125 miles per week, so not very much). This is mostly a precautionary measure on my part because I've been waiting for this fluidampr unicorn but am I just wasting my time by leaving the AC off? Also, does running the heat in the winter add strain to the balancer? Trying not to invest a couple hundred and associated labor in a part that will be replaced when/if this unicorn ever materializes

I bought the Vaico as insurance until the Fluidamper is released. Hence, the reason I went the least expensive route. If I am faced with the same situation as you, I will purchase a higher quality unit, install it and return the damaged Vaico for a refund. I hope I don't get to that point. |

No, it didn't fail. Neither did my 35d balancer, which was swapped at 182k miles.

What mileage are you at now and how long have you been deleted and tuned?

Unicorns... well not really. How many M57 cars were produced? There's going to be failures.
335d is at 155k and was deleted and tuned for the last 10k. 35d is at 195k and was deleted and tuned at 173k, damper swapped at 182k. |

It's just rare they make it that far into 100k's it seems like.

Based on posts by forum members, which is a very, very small percentage of 335d/35d owners worldwide.

I talked to ATI dampers today and they guarantee they can have 100 units ready in 70-90 days. If fluidampr doesn't recognize the demand, maybe it's worthwhile to go with someone who does.

Google ATI damper vs Fluidampr and see what you find.

http://www.competitiondiesel.com/for...d.php?t=152297 http://www.competitiondiesel.com/for...d.php?t=100639 There's many people on both sides of the fence. In certain racing arenas you'll not find a single fluid damper. In other motorsports they're everywhere. One thing no one argues about is if either is better than OEM - that answer is universally accepted. We've been told 2-3 more months now how many times by fluidampr? The general manager of ATI guaranteed me that essentially unless an act of God happens, 100+ production units would be ready for delivery in 70-90 days. |

Nice Matt. I bet ATI will be a real thing. And Fluidampr will still be "testing" theirs. Then it will never comes around as there will be no market for them.
