Thank you for checking my logs. I found the problem I was having. My MMP front turbo silicone outlet coupler had a huge hole in it. It go burned by the turbo manifold causing a massive boost leak and my WGDC run high. How much power do you think I lost from that ?

A lot.

You should be way more interested in thanking your lucky stars that this issue didn't take out one of your turbos

Thanks God it did not, but I also barely drive the car, so I thing that helped, it's a garage queen. Only have time to drive it over the weekends, so the turbos only have 700 miles on them, and I have been very focus to dial in the new setup before start pushing the car.

You'd lose a fair chunk of power and torque, difficult to state how much though.

Grab a fresh log once you've sorted that issue and post it up here so we can check. If you can find a straight and more importantly level road to log on, grab a full 3rd gear log (2000 - 6000 rpm) and we can check via Virtualdyno what kinda numbers you are on.

Might have a leaky injector(s) in Bank 1.

Interested in hearing from the experts as to possibly why you're not hitting load/boost targets though.

Hi guys,

I just picked up a 335i xdrive and decided to have a little fun with it. I have been reading and researching on here for a week now. Learning a lot so far. Seems like a great community. Since I am one to modify my cars, so far I added dual cone filters and the MHD Stage 1 93 octane tune. I was out last night and just did a quick log. It was 63 degrees outside and I started the log at a higher rpm as I didn't want it to kick down. An opportunity presented itself with some open road so I did the quick log.

If you guys could check it out that would be great. Couple things I noticed was the timing correction on a couple of cylinders. As well as the 'targeted boost' and 'boost psi' are not that close. Is that normal or should I be looking into a leak in hoses, couplers, boost solenoids, wastegates, etc.?

Anything else you guys see that I should look into or be concerned with?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Yes, looks like a boost leak, I'd start with that. You'll need to inspect your intake path junctions and/or conduct a smoke test. Several DIY's on this forum. Some info that will help others help you:

# of miles on car.
Any mods.
Last time plugs/coils/injectors were replaced.

Timing corrections are a little excessive (I am not expert but a general rule of thumb I learned is <5 degrees on less that 3 simultaneously and not improving). So you have three that are improving over time in the pull but over 5 degrees.

First mod I would get is a decent FMIC. look at how fast your IAT's go up.

Welcome to the club, have fun on the journey!

Takes about a thousand rpm to get to 12 psi. That is a little slow for 2nd gear. Doesn't look like you logged the target boost. That'll give more insight and may show you have a boost leak.

Thank you for looking at the data log.

The car has 101K miles. It just has dual cone filters and the MHD tune. The person I bought it from was a N54 enthusiast. Within the last 2K miles he replaced the injectors (12 index style), coils, spark plugs, walnut shell blasted the intake ports, and so on. The car runs great and doesn't give any codes.

The car looks very original. With the car's age and miles, it having leaks from vacuum/hose, solenoids, and the like, could be an issue for sure. Between buddies and myself, we have the equipment to check the systems. So we will see what we can find there.

I want to make sure the car is in good working order for now. It is going to be winter here in Chicago soon. With the poor quality winter gas coming soon, I plan to put the stock tune back on it once everything is woking correctly on the car. Come spring I will be installing a FMIC and possibly catless downpipes.

Like you said, not quite hitting target boost. May have a leak - check the fmic plumbing first. Other thing I noticed is cyls 1 & 4 pull timing pretty bad as you shift to 4th. Could be an anomaly so you should test again and see if you get the same results.

Your boost is bouncing around quite a bit and drops quit a bit at the upper end, looks like JB4 is still controlling boost. You may want to disable JB4 and run straight MHD, see if it feels any better.
