This is not my experience. I have listened to the same song numerous times from the start when I stopped the car a few times in brief stops...

For podcasts and vodcasts, the audio will always start where you left off (imagine losing your place in an eight-hour audio book)."
Thanks... that is exactly what I wanted to know! Although has everyone had the same experience?

The system is nothing if not inconsistent. Happens randomly.

His comment related to songs, not audio books.

Shame the random function doesn't work as well...

Perhaps it's the iPod I use - I have been using a 1G nano.

I quoted part number 65 11 0 403 650 to my dealer, but that didn't register on his system - this is the part number from the US press release.

I ordered the first part number, now I'm worried its for the old, defunct interface? Help please !
Noone can verify this for me still?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a European BMW forum where I might be able to get an answer to my question?

Help would be much appreciated.........

It works in a similar fashion.

From my testing, most of the time, if you hit random and the advance, it will advance to the NEXT track. After it plays that tack, it may or may not pick something random.

If you are ON random and don't touch anything, it will continue on random.

How from a BMW perspective can I prove to them it works other than showing them places like someone out of Chicago that had it installed and it works? Advice ASAP would be appreciated.
I have had reports that the new documentation with the kit now says from SOP. I cannot verify personnally yet, but trust my sources. Now this is the kit documentation I am speaking of and not the SIB. It will probably take a while just as the MP3 SIB took awhile to catch up to reality (was o9/05 then changed to SOP)

What do you mean reality?

It wasn't, now it is (compatible).

If you mean MP3 it was proven early on that despite the initial bulletin claim that it was not compatible with builds earlier than 09/05 it was right out of the box right from the get go.

If you mean iPod MOST Integration, many vehicles are operating just fine with early builds dating back to 03/04 and without anything newer than the PROGMAN it took to get MP3 going (20.xx in the 5/6er world). So my point is the aftersales bulletin is not 100% correct in its claim that it is not compatible with builds earlier than 09/05 jast as in the MP3 case. Now I do admit, that there are special conditions to allow this to happen. It appears that to not have to have new PROGMAN you must have had a 6CDC and the MP3 in-dash capability. But still there are no absolutes as one might hear from the dealer (who may not have the benefit of the collective knowledge of our wonderful forums).

Question regarding menu option CD06 = Random 500 tracks

Does this option select the same 500 random tracks every time you go to the CD06 option? Or does select a different 500 random tracks every time you select the option?

Also, are the tracks in this menu option listed randomly or in some type of order (by song name, artist, etc)?

(I apologize if this was covered before, but I searched all over and could not find it)

ALL tracks will be played in Random order. As I understand it, the 500 limit is a display limit only, i.e. if you scrolled the list track 500 would be the last one you could see in the list, but it still plays all the tracks on the iPod.

On mine they are sorted by Track Title on CD6.

Thanks after discussions and escalation I got them to agree to install it and only charge me an hour of labor. They claim I have Progman 23.02.02 (any way to prove this with the codes they give me from my service visit?) and guess what, it doesn't work. They had the car for 2.5 days so far and now have a PUMA case opened.

What doesn't work is I see no option for CDC in the iDrive menu with the iPod connected. Any ideas what they did wrong? It seems clear some option wasn't done correctly in the software setup I would think. Thoughts while I wait for them to get back to me?

It could be but this is per the latest bulletin dated this month: Progman 23.01.00 (Target data Status E89x-06-09-530)

But it happens that dealers can get online updtaes the precede or even never get a bulletin. I do not know if it happened to the e90 but 23.02 had issues that would not allow the iPod to work back around the 1st week or so in November in the e60/63 platforms (e90s and e60/63 do not stay in sync PROGMAN wise but will be close). The dealers got an online update to fix this last weekend.

cdp1276, according to a general communication from BMW South Africa, the part number you have given is for vehicles without CDC (which I assume is CD Changer). The part number for vehicles with CDC is 65-41-0-415-655. I'm sure I read in one of the threads that all E90s in the US have the 6 CD changer as standard? If so, the part numbers don't tie up.
